Bridal shower question......again
Comments (4)i would do what's easiest for you! i think a chafing dish or something to keep it warm is a good idea, unless everybody is going to sit down and eat and finish all at the same time... all i know is hot pasta is by far the best kind of pasta! i don't know if you should judge amount by # of serving dishes... how much pasta/mac and cheese fits in one serving dish?? one pound? a pound and a half? i would probably want to cook about 4 lbs of pasta for 25 people... knowing me, maybe more just to be sure!...See Morebridal shower gift
Comments (13)I second sheeisback, cash or gift card, and I think any clothing items are not a good idea. The bridal shower gift is for the couple, not just the bride, so buying even non-sexy pjs seem like you are inserting yourself into their bedtime. No. If they'll be moving around, cash or a gift card to one of their registered places would really be the most useful. What they think they need, and registered for, might be very different than what they will find out they really need once they're settled someplace....See MoreGift for hostess of daughter's bridal shower
Comments (10)By best friend of 30+ years was a godsend to me when I agreed to have a bridal shower at my home for my DS and DDIL. Technically I wasn't the hostess, just providing the setting but I had just come home from the hospital and rehab after having both knees replaced. My BF came early, stayed late and even ran out to the store when the bridesmaids discovered they didn't have enough paper products. I decided to treat her to a spa afternoon at a local salon and she loved it. My other ideas were theater tickets, a GC to a wonderful restaurant or a simple white gold or silver necklace....See MoreBridal Shower Etiquette
Comments (30)WOW we are OLD, that is my take away from this thread. I have been to ONE graduation party where the thank you's were there in a basket the mother of the nephew handed as we said our good byes. TACKY for sure. At the time I racked it up to; well my sister knows her son. He wasn't about to write thank you notes. He did improve with age, we got a very nice thank you for his wedding gift. As the hostess I applaud you for your ability to keep to your values in your home. Please leave this bride to her own sensibilities. It is not your job to be involved in her thank you notes. Pre-written or other wise!! The question is now that you have said no, will she bring her own bowl of thank you scrolls? That would do me in. Your original question mentioned Etiquette. I know of no "expert" on such things that would give a recipient permission to not reply in writing a specific and heart felt thank you. A "generic thank you for coming " IS NOT A THANK YOU NOTE!...See More
