Yes, I'm the Crazy Old Cat Lady

last year

We have a neighbor a block away from us who has a beautiful German Shepherd. Unfortunately, the young woman who owns him let's him run freely around the neighborhood. He often comes to our house because he knows that's where the feral cats come for dinner. When it's time for him to come home she sends her 2 daughters (6 & 8 years old) to call him home. Of course he doesn't obey. I've told the girls many times that they need to keep him on a leash. They told Mom and she came to visit me. She said her daughters said I yelled at them. They were across the street from my house and I told her I didn't tell at them, but I just spoke bit louder because of the distance. Mom is a big gal with a foul mouth. I told her there's a leash law and called me a liar. She didn't believe it and told me to come outside and talk to her. I'm pretty sure she meant me harm, so I stayed behind my steel screen door.

One of the ferals that we haven't able to trap has many litters. A few months ago she had 4 babies, a mix of white and marmalaid. A week or so ago the dog was let loose again and it killed three of the babies. One was able to escape. Richard and I broke or rule of "6 cats is enough", and brought her in a couple of days ago. She's very sweet and not really afraid of us. She doesn't come to us, but doesn't fight or try to get loose when we pick her up. She weighs about 3 pounds. Say hello to Punkin.
