Just read that Malcom Jamal Warner died. He was 54 years old. Said it was drowning accident.
So sad....RIP

Many sitcom actors never make it out of sitcom. He was one of the few who made the switch to drama. And dit it very well. Such a loss. RIP .

Tragic. I always think what an added burden on the family when we hear of people dying far from home. A BIL died just in another state, just before Easter. It was no fun trying to get him home!

My pet peeve is watching these 20 something first time home buyers moaning that the house doesn't have an "Open concept" or that the 5 year old kitchen cabinet doors have curves and there is no granite or stainless steel. "We will have to replace everything!" Obviously they have more money than we did at that age, but do they really want every house to look identical? My favorite house was the one with the most quirks. I like having something to decorate around - either to highlight or to try to distract from.....lol. Maybe because I have always had to.... but too much of a blank slate is really intimidating to me. My own mother told me yesterday that the leaded glass windows in my dining room look dated, and of course, the picture frame paneling in the den. When they become the trend again is when I will consider getting rid of them!

I would like to see a Carol Burnett marathon on some station. I'd be glued to my seat all day and night, and so would DH. The skits with Burnett, Conway, and Korman were priceless. And the time Carol basically dared a young man from the audience to come up and sing, and he did, and did a WONDERFUL job with "What I did for love." And the time Carol had Beverly Sills on the show, and sang with her. Chills! A locked chord whenever I hear it still gives chills! As a kid, we didn't have TV. But later, I remember George Goeble's gentle humor, and Tennessee Ernie, and Perry Como. Yes, I miss the variety shows. Who knows what we'd see if that format was brought back? I don't even want to think about it.

We had a cat who was very odd. She’d jump on top of doors and lay across the top of the door. She jumped in the tub as soon as we turned off the shower. She loved water. One weekend, DH and I went somewhere overnight. When we came home, we could hear voices in our apartment. When we opened the door, we found the cat sitting on the sofa next to the remote, and the TV on.

arkansas girl -we opted not to go with an autopsy. Initially, I was determined to get to the bottom of this, but it would have been $850, and it wouldn't have brought our boy back.... I don't think it could have been something sharp simply because he showed not a single second of discomfort, and he was running and jumping all per usual, literally until the second he collapsed.

Oh how sad. Quality human being. An actor who kept his private life out of the spot light. Just read he was named after Malcolm X. Wonderful. My heart goes out to his family.

A very sad story. He was too young and vibrant . I liked him on The Cosby Show, and it seems he went on to bigger things.

There was a tribute on the news and more info about him and his daughter caught in that riptide.

The beach they were at was posted as dangerous to swimmers and surfers because of the extreme and ever-present riptides. From the ABC news footage, it looked like too much surf for swimming.

Wonder why he would choose to swim there?
