I got a letter saying nothing will change as far as meetings and the app. Don't know what else might change. The meetings are the same as they were. The medications are handled differently and they still use the same program with points and such.

Will people take these weight loss meds for life? People don't seem concerned about possible long term effects.

Obesity is a huge national problem, but there's not a lot of data on these meds. I'm thinking of the problems people had after gastric surgery. A woman I knew nearly died when her reduced gut couldn't cope after she developed a serious disease.

Noom (psych + support) sounds useful. I'm a fan of support groups in general.

Never tried WW because I knew Id never stick with it and from what I heard about the meetings, it sounded like a revival meeting.

The new weight loss drugs seem to make a remarkable difference but considering the expense , I dont see how most people can stay on it. Im sure people think they will lose the weight and keep it off without the meds, but that rarely works.

I wish their were a magic permanent weight loss wand. Id be first in line to get it.

My friend had tremendous success using Noom. Another friend had bariatric surgery from a doctor who required his patients to also get therapy. The mind / body relationship is important.

I so agree Jupi. For the obese, it is more than just limiting intake, but finding the cause of the need to over indulge.

My niece and nephew have this issue. i worry about them. One is on meds but I haven't seen much of a change yet.
