Comments (1)Thanks for the update and the info, jkom51. The big shot financial guys didn't like the little guys leaving them holding the (empty) bag. So it's become more difficult. Comments (28)Of course one would be disgusted with the situation and the truth that where boys and men congregate this keeps happening. It is very easy to point fingers at institutions that do not have eyes at every gathering. The place to look is the culture that created the pressure to look the other way, shame the victim or just ignore the signs. These boys also had parents and good Patrol leaders. I want to know why the healthy adults did not come to the aid of these boys, and I want to know the impossible; how to keep children safe from predators. Bankrupting an institution is not going to do that. The experience of Scouting in my family, going back several generations was positive, for that we were blessed, it's that simple....See MoreRevlon cosmetics files for bankruptcy
Comments (35)Zalco - I'm not sure what your point is, since we're essentially saying the same thing. Revlon has been in trouble for years: high debt levels, poor management, inability to adapt to a changing marketplace. No one is saying the supply chain issue is the cause of its downfall, just that it may have been the proverbial last straw for a company already at breaking point. None of the articles I've read is ignoring or downplaying the long-standing problems at the company. I simply took issue with the implication in Elmer's comment that it was too soon for any credible reporting: given that the company has a long and very public history of financial and management issues, anyone who follows the industry at all would be able to explain why this happened. In fact, the WSJ reported on many of these issues, and rumours of the impending bankruptcy filing several days before it actually took place....See MoreOh no...Christmas Tree Shops is filing for bankruptcy???
Comments (11)I used to be a loyal CTS customer. I shopped there at least once or twice each month. Five years ago, their selection and quality took a huge dip. The deal breaker for me was when they did away with the option to order online and pick up in the store. They did away with that option long before COVID. The order online and pick up in store was great if you were looking for large quantities of items for example a dozen green wine glasses or 12 place settings of dinnerware or 6 of the same picture frame or 4 identical tablecloths as the stores never seem to have large quantities in stock. If you ordered online they would pull from the warehouse and send it to the store for pickup....See More- 9 days ago
