That was my go to place for little holiday tchotchkes for my 98-yr-old bed-ridden friend. She always made a mess trying to eat and paper napkins would move around a lot so I got her 4 monogrammed dishcloths to use instead for next to nothing. Best place for glassware, dishes, picnic supplies, paper napkins, door mats, outdoor rugs, candles, and all kinds of other things. Great place to find stuff to fill up a gift basket too. One of my favorite places to nose around in especially during holiday times. Sad to see them go...

Oh no! We don’t have these shops here in New Mexico, but I always head to the one near my sister’s place when we’re in Michigan. For many years now, we girls have enjoyed shopping there😪!

I always thought pike had too many stores. This town is extremely sprawing but even "family-owned" chain garden centers that are prominent in other large metros only have maybe 3 locations. Pike has 17! Just in the atlanta area. To make matters worse, if you ask me (not an actual fact) their customer base would appear to be... not growing that fast, as more and more people move into zero lot line, cluster homes, town homes etc and don't have any where to grow anything. Their product offering hasn't been adjusted to offer these customers much, if anything, for the smaller lots. They should be going after these customers with free workshops and plants to solve problems they have with the small garden. And also appealing to a younger crowd.

"I will fight you with all my vigor if you are going to deprive me of my right to consume what has been proven safe food just because you feel it is revolting." What has been proven safe food is the real question for me. I don't trust the gov, any gov, to tell me what's safe to eat. Our processed food industries are full of practices meant to stretch real food by including a slew of "additives" that human beings were not meant to eat. Like wood pulp and cotton waste turned into cellulose gum, one of the most ubiquitous additives/stretchers - supplied by that arbiter of safety - none other than China. In fact, our bodies don't absorb it, don't use it. don't digest it. Who knows what adverse effects it has on our digestive systems? It's a filler - a stretcher, dead weight if you will. It's cheating. And the processed food manufacturers market it to us as extra FIBER. And just because cellulose gum has been used for many years and given the okay by the powers-that-be to be added into our foods doesn't make me believe that it is any way good for me. It's a Frankenfood, pure and simple. As for the pink slime uproar - people are angry because it is not just a piece of meat that has been ground and packaged that we have been buying - that we thought we were buying. We find out that this additive, however natural in origin, however safely processed, has been secretly added to our so-called ground beef. Secretly added. Yes. If you are not required to disclose it, that's being secretive. That's hiding information from the people. That's government agencies preemptively deciding it's okay not to disclose information because they know better than the people. That's lying. That's pulling the wool over our eyes. That's being in cahoots with the processors and not being on the side of the people. The processed food industry needs to be held accountable. People are more educated now. We want disclosure. We want transparency. We want to eat what you tell us we are eating. If it's 15% chemically-processed filler, then put it on the flipping label. Otherwise you are a cheater. An immoral cheater.

Hmmm...we'll work out something--maybe Friday? And you know what, I meant to add that I was really underwhelmed by the experience of painting with the MoorGuard. Are Exterior paints generally thinner than interior? I then went in and put on a coat of EK (ICI-Dulux) interior semi-gloss on some window trim and it was a completely different experience. The Aura was more like the ICI. I'm wondering if there's a better exterior paint that I could mix the Sandy Hook Gray in...I may take the sample in to ICI-Dulux and ask them to mix it in one of their exterior finishes. Any thoughts on that? What exterior paint do folks favor?

Hello, Everyone. To be honest I don't know where to post - CS 4 or 5. Anyway, I wanted to jump in and wish all a Merry Christmas. As I mentioned in an earlier note I follow your discussions and enjoy them a lot. I'm still "sort of" into coffee trials. I need to find someone else, or others, who also want to sample. For instance I bought Island Blend beans at World Market. 24 ounces? That makes a lot of ground coffee and at two or three cups a day it would be around forever. I usually get tired of a brand in a few weeks. I'm a little late, but Happy Winter Solstice. I'll bet you didn't realize daylight time was longer on Sunday and today. I've not taken a scenic trip in my Western North Carolina mountains since putting the Miata to bed for the winter. But, I have thought of going to Harrah's at Cherokee to donate a few dollars. Haven't done that in ten years or so. At least I can enjoy different scenery. Pris, is there a web site that'll take one by the hand and walk them through the process of scanning old pictures and putting them on a disk? I know how to scan but I've never moved anything to a disk. I know each picture has to have a suffix, like .jpg, to be read by other picture programs. Is that all that's to it? I heard they were owned by Bed Bath and Beyond so they may all be going dowwn at once. They may come back in some modified form .

There are a lot of them on Cape Cod. I had not been into our local store for over 3 years because of Covid. Went there last week looking for a picture frame, a lampshade and some wrapping paper and ribbon for Mother's Day gifts. I left empty-handed. I was surprised how little variety the store had of things I always counted on buying there. Seeing this news, it finally makes sense.

I used to be a loyal CTS customer. I shopped there at least once or twice each month. Five years ago, their selection and quality took a huge dip. The deal breaker for me was when they did away with the option to order online and pick up in the store. They did away with that option long before COVID.

The order online and pick up in store was great if you were looking for large quantities of items for example a dozen green wine glasses or 12 place settings of dinnerware or 6 of the same picture frame or 4 identical tablecloths as the stores never seem to have large quantities in stock. If you ordered online they would pull from the warehouse and send it to the store for pickup.

O NO! The last time I was in one of there stores, it looked like they had some empty shelves. I didn't think anything about it, because I know that they used to be part of Bed Bath & Beyond, but that they were sold off a few years ago. I don't buy a lot there, but they are great for things like wrapping paper and aluminum foil pans and stuff like that. How sad.

BB&B sold Christmas Tree Shops in late 2020 to Handil Holdings LLC. Handil rebranded Christmas Tree Shops to TCS. Handil leveraged Christmas Tree Shops with a secured loan from Pathlight Capitol. It could be that Handil is defaulting and having to declare bankruptcy due to that.

But the BB&B filing is unrelated to the TCS filing.
