Food preferences over the long-haul

last year

Years ago, when my daughter "Sonnet" and I were talking about stuff, she sort of asked what makes a good marriage or partnership or whatever. Three things came to my mind, which at first glance, seem silly and mundane. But in reality, aren't. In my experience anyway. First: sense of humor. What's funny, what's not. When disected, this is huge. Second: Are your TV preferences the same. How tiresome it can be when your living partner wants to watch garbage on TV. Third was do you like to eat the same things. I concede that most (all?) couples with differences here must (and do) come to some form of compromise; and, after all, that's what it's all about. But a spice loving soul with an eye to the ethnic vs a grandma meat and potatoes pallet can expect some friction. Not a big deal, and concessions can be made, but over the long haul...it matters. What are your thoughts?
