Dad was a mechanic. He built a car in the 60’s. He made the body of wood. It was not a comfortable ride, but we kids loved it. He took us for rides around the decommissioned army base in town, Camp Stoneman. Dad took it to the DMV to get it registered and they argued with him about it. They said it was just a cart. Then he took a couple of the guys for a ride and they realized it had POWER. He got his registration.

Mourning dove nesting in a falling apart mockingbird nest right by the front door. They're notorious for their flimsy nest-building, but I never knew they'd use one abandoned by other birds.

Relaxing for a little bit in Seaside, Oregon, last Fall.

Had to google cobnuts, which are apparently hazelnuts. Love them and used to make little hazelnut wafers years ago. Never seen them sold like that here in the states. I need to go look at my little Kousa dogwood to see how it's doing. Last night I looked it wasn't like the drought we're having. It's near the back fence so I forget to water it.
