And this reminded me - I have a newish fob on my car key and it seems super sensitive. When I'm holding the keys in my hand, I'm continually locking/unlocking the doors by accident - along with accidentally hitting the panic button 🙁

Sometimes stuff happens. It will get better, I promise!

Do you think you were distracted by something bothering you, making you absent minded? Take care and try to stay well rested and focussed? Is the back of your head okay. A neighbor recently banged her head in a very similar way — the car’s trunk coming down as she lifted her head after putting items in the trunk. She sustained quite an egg.

Lol, and my commiserations. The past 24 hours have been similar for me, altho not life-threatening. Just a compilation of annoyances that have me wanting to go back to bed and ignore the rest of this day.

I have had a plethora of gorgeous peaches to deal with this week -- yesterday I prepared several bags of slices for the freezer successfully, then went on to make freezer jam. Guess what didn't set? And now I need to figure out how to rectify THAT. Grrrr. And yet more fruit waiting for my attention. I am considering just throwing what's left against the wall...

Then I had the aggravation of misplacing my two bathmats - looked in all the appropriate spots with no luck. (Finally found one - in an inappropriate spot, WTH, but the other is still AWOL -- why??).

Had a humidity-related headache, so went to fetch the liquid acetaminophen -- I have a supply of this, so should have been easy to find. Right? Not right. Nowhere, and I KNOW I have multiple bottles. Also AWOL.

What is going on here??? It is another grey and gloomy day here which really does make me inclined to return to the comfort of my bed. Perhaps getting horizontal is the answer to my little problems today. But that won't fix the da*m jam.

Beethoven just came on the radio -- YAY! Situation is improving. Tho neither that jam nor the bathmat are cooperating.

It’s happened to me. I'm not sure why. I was able to stop it from closing.

I think we all need to be more mindful and present doing everyday activities.

I broke two water glasses last week.

The door came down on me recently too at Walmart whle I was loading a few groceries. I am unaware of a control button in the car. I think that although the fob was in my purse, the hatch button accidently depressed or the foot control which never works BTW activated when I was reaching in.

Things disappear and then reappear just where they ought to be all the time around my house. Gremlins? Ghosts? Presently I am awaiting the reappearance of the blood pressure monitor.

Petilque, Chewie's bed is on the other side of my bed, so no going that way. ( : Other than my shoulder, which is feeling much better, have no worries.

Roxanna, sorry you're having a bad couple of days too. It's so annoying losing stuff. I still can't find my huge cast iron frying pan. How can something like that just disappear? Did someone in one group of workers swipe it? Who knows? Haven't seen it since my kitchen was boxed up for renovation.

It's obviously a wicked, far-reaching spell.

I was finally able to raise my left arm/hand enough to wash and dry my hair this morning. I clip up the top while drying the rest. Today I'd dried the bottom and couldn't find the clip. I looked on the sink and in the cabinet. No clip. Oh! Of course. It was in my hair.

I'm not taking on anything important for the rest of the day.

Sorry about car trunks are attacking people! I'm through envying such helpful features.

I don’t think my rear hatch will open unless the car is in park and the switch is off. But I need to check and see if it will start to come down if a ’body’ is in the frame. Without getting hurt of course. I’ve not had this car all that long and believe there is sensor that prevents it.

I always step back from my Outback as it clipped me once as I was putting groceries in. August isn't any better than July even though I said Rabbit rabbit a dozen times that day /night. Since June we have had way less than an inch of rain but be careful what you wish for. Last night and today we had four inches resulting in flooding and many home disasters. Our outside is okay but inside leaks in the powder room and the weirdest of all... yesterday I could not shut the hall window the whole way because the wood was swollen with moisture. It was open an inch.But that was enough for rain to pour through soaking three rugs and even a giant roll of toilet paper which was on the bathroom floor since it doesn't fit right away in the built-in holder. At least I don't have to water for the first time all summer but the downside is I have to "hike" the mall instead of my really flooded AT. Will this summer ever end?

Lily, i can commiserate about the weather. Today was absolutely awful, with the pouring rain and sky high humidity. I actually did goback to bed! I had to get up early and run down the driveway to retrieve the trash cans before the wind whipped them away. Then i discovered that my dishwasher isnt cleaning the dishes like it used to, so ill run that load again.

My shoulders are hurting ( rotator cuff), so since i wasnt going out in this miserable weather, so i went back to bed to read for a while and ended up having a nice nap.

I broke a toe. Reinjured it. Ortho Dr is giving me grief. HOA is up in arms....no special treatment here. :0) It's just another day in paradise....

So as if the water problems weren't enough (and remember we were in a category severe drought till yesterday), when we got home from Panera we had no water. The company then called and said there was a break in the water main and 47,000 customers are dry! Just topping off a crappy summer. There are old water bottles in our basement we discovered the other day. Never opened so will they be safe to drink? Can water go bad? There was dust on the box so it's been years.

According to StillTasty.com your old water will be safe to drink indefinitely as long as it is still sealed from the manufacturer. This is what the FDA says... YMMV!

I went to slice up a cucumber, reached in the drawer for my little paring knife - not there. It's AlWAYS there after I use and wash it. Looked everywhere until I decided I must have pitched it in the trash with other stuff by mistake. I went to the hardware and bought a new one, they are inexpensive.

Next day I reach in the fridge for my packages of lunch meat and cheese - there's my original paring knife under the package of meat.......grrrr.

This discussion reminded of a dear friend whose hubby accidentally slammed her head with their rear hatch door many years ago. She had to have stitches ☹️

That's awful, Carol. I have hit my head with my trunk before, when I had my Altima. Not hard enough to cause damage, though.

Re: the water situation. It's back on with a boil water order but lower pressure and they are handing out two cases of water to customers. Husband said he'll drink old water. I'm sticking with new and giving new to the cats.

We inherited a Ford Explorer from my mil and couple of times I shut the back hatch on me. I decided I better look in the owner's manual and see if you are able to close the hatch with moving your leg back and forth. Sure enough, my car has that extra feature. I don't use it all the time but it sure is handy sometimes and it's good to now know why I was shutting the hatch on me.
