Sigh. I'm down to two clematis and both of those are the shrubby type, not climbing. The deer just pull them down from whatever they are clinging to. All the flower buds have been nipped from the two I have.

I had a huge soft pink clematis montana at our former house. I'd planted it on a vintage exceptionally tall pine that was at the sidewalk on the property line. I put it in as that neighbors mother had become ill and was later lost. Darned if it didn't grow up the tree about 40' and bloomed right about Mothers Day every year. People used to stop when walking and thank me for it. That was just a few blocks away. Here just a little farther up the hill, the deer have no consideration at all 😊

That is a beautiful Clematis. I am fond cone flowers but adore Clems. Good for you.

I went to Payless Shoes last week and found a pair of black clogs on sale for $27.00 regular $54.99. When I went to pay, I asked the cashier if they still took AMA for an additional 10% off. She said no, as the shoes were only $10.00. She told me that any shoes with a red tag were $10.00. I told her to hang on a minute and went back and found a pair of sandals, then grabbed a pair of earrings and a necklace. Total price for everything was $27.01. Then I went to the Goodwill store and found a brand new winter jacket (still had the tag on from the original store) for $7.00, but it had a green tag and it was green tag day so the jacket ended up costing me $3.50. Next, stopped at Penningtons because I needed a belt. Found one I liked for $24.99 and went to pay, cashier said that will be $1.04. What??? She said it rang up at $0.99. So, all in all a good shopping day for me.

I just took advantage of this deal from No7 (Boots--a company in the UK). I've bought their skin creams before, including this one, so when I heard about this set of three face creams--day, night, and serum--I ordered it as a gift for my daughter. Nicole_ That was a great deal! I have a couple of different colors (pink, white, and pale yellow) of those tree lilies (Orienpet lilies). They will grow taller every year, and they certainly do get to 10+ feet tall after several years. Once they approach that height, it is a good idea to stake them, as they will tend to lean with the weight of the large flowers. The tallest one in this photo is just topping 8 foot They also reproduce, unless you deadhead them. I let them, and so now I have a little lily forest in one corner. What colors did you get? I would have liked a purple, but never managed to get that color on sale.

I get it Funky. What I like about this one is that it is a stretched canvas, no glass, which keeps it simpler. It's going into a small upstairs bedroom that has the original 1910 stained wood beadboard, so I think a poster size print will bring a pop to the walls without needing anything else. We'll see!

We used to have clematis in Venice, but they are not recommended there because they quickly grow out of control and start to take over, since we have no frost there, and they never die back.

I ordered some chocolate Habanero plants today and will receive them Tuesday. It remains to be seen whether they will be a bargain, since I don't know how they will survive, once they get here.

Haven't been out & about much but did find unsalted butter for $2.66#, no limits. Picked up 6#'s. The salted version was $1 more per # for some crazy reason.

I had time to burn before my orthodontics appt. Big R, Carhartt pocket T-shirt, $7.99, reg. price was $20. Then opened a money market account earning 5.25% interest, they gave me an additional $300 for an extra deposit.
