elmer's dill and cucumber salad

I'm not wild about cucumbers, so I was thinking about using your recipe as an inspiration.

"If you like dill, try this quick, easy and low-cal Japanese-inspired dill cucumber salad.Slice a cucumber or several thinly, crossways. Put in a bowl and add rice vinegar almost to the point of submersion and a generous amount of fresh dill. A little salt to taste. Toss well. Allow it to spend several hours in the fridge. You'll find yourself with a refreshing and cooling salad that is a year-round favorite of ours.I'm sure there are many variations of fresh cucumber salads, maybe with some red onion, or some garlic, or who knows what."

I'd love to use zucchini instead. Maybe even grill it? I haven't done any of this, so I'm open to any suggestions. And that includes everybody not just elmer.

I'm unlikely to spend 4th of July with anyone. Not one of my favorite holidays. But I will grill a ribeye. And I'd like to have just a veggie side with it.
