Need yeast free and sugar free ideas.
Comments (17)I think the jury is still out on these "anti-fungal" diets. I think diets high in refined carbohydrates can have all kinds of health side effects, (weight gain, high cholesterol, and as mentioned, diabetes or pre-diabetes, allergies, etc.) and one would be wise to limit them, if not cut them out all together. However, I don't recommend going without grains all together, since I personally need the fiber. Lack of fiber, IMHO, is another thing that causes health problems in people who eat high sugar/refined carb diets. I personally don't believe it is just "yeast" that is the culprit. There are approximately 6 billion little bacteria that live on you and in you. You are an ecosystem, and you can get out of whack. Good stewardship of one's body can help. No cure all, but neither are all the creams and pills, which often do not cure at all either. I followed a no-gluten diet for months to curb menstrual cramps, and it had no effect. Exercise on the other hand, goes a long way for me in helping that problem. However, following a diet high in fiber and with a good balance of carbs and protein helps with a whole lot of systemic health problems. Good fuel keeps the body running well, and that in turn helps the immune system fight off yeast infections. Also may help good bacteria establish themselves in your gut and also on your skin. That's a whole other aspect to the story. Modern vinegar is a far cry from the original fermented product. We're using all kinds of weird bacteria and doing all kinds of things that cause bacteria to mutate, not just "yeast." People are getting mutated e-coli establishing itself in their guts too. I have persistent urinary tract infections that are hard as heck to control too, and I've tried all the suggestions of conventional and alternative medicines, and spent THOUSANDS on tests that showed NOTHING. Here's is a recipe Web site that I like. I am no purist when it comes to anti-yeast dieting, but I think the recipes here are very good and very healthy. Oh, and then there's the issue of all the pesticides and hormonal mimics, and food grown on unnatural fertilizers, etc. It is no wonder that many of us are feeling unwell. We're stressing the earth's immune system and then wondering why our own immune systems are having a tough time. Trying to find good wholesome food, fresh air and pure water and time to de-stress and exercise are quite the luxuries nowdays. I have to balance the cost of healthy food vs the benefits, which is hard to do. I also recommend coconut oil, it is a great food. Not a panacea, but worth including in one's diet. Don't know about yeast issues, but oatmeal is a godsend for helping me with my IBS. But not the instant stuff, that's very refined, the old style rolled oats or oat groats. Modern yogurt, dairy and cheese is a far cry from the old style stuff with natural bacteria in it. One of the worst substances for health is this ultra pasteurized milk that is on the market too. They even sell "organic" versions but ultra-pasteurizing things is not a good idea as a substitute for good hygiene in the processing of food. Comments (9)Hi taigen, Congratulations on having persisted with your Quit!! Have you been involved with the forums there? I was involved with several, some time ago. Quite a number of people said that had it not been for the understanding, advice, support and friedship which they found there, they doubted that they could have persisted in their Quit. Several years ago when I sold corn-fired heating stoves, shortly after they were introduced into Canada, when I had my demonstration trailer set up at a fall fair in a nearby town, three young women in their teens walked by, at least one of them smoking. I approached them and in a rather light-hearted, bantering way, with a smile on my face, asked her how she'd like me to give her a Cadillac? Sort of turning a shoulder toward me and looking at me out of the corner of her eye, she asked me, suspiciously, what she'd have to do to qualify. I told her that I didn't intend to give her a Cadillac, but that if she were to choose to quit smoking and save her money, before too long she'd be able to buy one for herself. When she asked whether I was telling her to quit smoking, I said that I was not ... that I'd lived for a time where there was little freedom and that I'd learned to value my right to choose how I should live my life, and that I should respect her right to live her life as she chose, too ... ... but that I wanted to make a suggestion to her as to some alternatives that she might find interesting, and choose to follow. What she did about them was up to her. As I'd been a personal financial advisor for a time, I suggested that, were I to suggest to her that she to drop the price of the cigarettes on the street every week ... or drop it down a rathole, she'd tell me that I was nuts. But that if she were to do that, she'd be doing herself a favour, rather than spend it on cigarettes, that'd quite likely cause her body major trouble in later years: it's not a good idea to make our bodies like a chimney ... had she ever looked up the chimney above a fireplace?. The girls were rather interested, and we had a discussion that may have been worthwhile. Who knows? ole joyful...See MoreAnyone stopped smoking after years of smoking?
Comments (38)I have been a lurker here forever...never posted. I know how hard it is to quit smoking. I smoke for over 20 years about 2 1/2packs a day. I quit 5 years ago. I had tried to quit several times but always went back. I quit by picking a date.I told myself that it was going to be hard but every day would be easier. I also read that when you quit smoking your body is over the withdraw from nicotine 48-72 hours after you last smoke. I told myself the first 3 days would be the hardest and after the 3 days it is all a mind game. I really believe that is what help me stop smoking is knowing that my body did not need the nicotine, that it was my mind. i did take a mini vaction from work, some people say they get very tired from not smoking.... The first 6 months are hard....you will give yourself every excuse to smoke again...it has been 5 years and once in great while i will still get the urge to smoke...I know I cannot smoke or even try to smoke...because I will be right back where I was. I wish you the best of luck...See MoreBriggs and Stratton 42A707 Won't Start
Comments (4)Very good possibility that a connecting rod has transferred metal to the crankshaft from lack of lubrication. IF the crankshaft is not scored, you may be able to repair the engine but you will have to tear it down to tell. Even if you get it to turn over it will likely throw the rod very soon doing more damage. There will be an inspection plate in the back of the engine held by 4 bolts, you can remove that and get an idea of the condition, remove the rod caps. New oil sure as heck is not going to fix it.
