Nat Gas is not a fossil fuel. The Earth creates more Nat Gas than we could consume. Carbon and Hydrogen are both extremely plentiful...

This isn't the place for politics so I won't get into addressing anything else you said. But factually, natural gas is definitely a fossil fuel. Definition "There are three major forms of fossil fuels: coal, oil and natural gas. All three were formed many hundreds of millions of years ago before the time of the dinosaurs – hence the name fossil fuels. The age they were formed is called the Carboniferous Period."

I find most fire pits unlovely in daylight. Most could use a cover. I use mechanics oil pan over mine As it is a wood burning pit I collect sticks as I walk the dogs. A friend repurposed a hood from a VW bug for her fire pit cover it was seriously cute.
