Help Old Me Find Everyday Walking Shoes

A podiatrist tells me to ditch the black Merrell slides I've been wearing for ages and get lace-up shoes. I've liked the slides because they're not *too* casual (like sneaks or hiking shoes) and because of the way they tilt my feet *in*, not outward. I think that balance shifting is a Merrell specialty, but maybe there are other brands that do the same. It's supposedly to adjust for a female's wider hips.

I wore 7.5AAA until my high arches flattened with age. I need an 8.5 to 9 narrow unless I use inserts to sort of "fill up" a medium width shoe.
