Fireplace and cabinet Paint help
i have an white electric fireplace and recently bought ikea cabinets to go on either side (currently raw pine)
i really want to bring a moody/cozy vibe to my small loving room. thought i could paint the cabinets OR BOTH.
need help! should i paint both? dark green/grey brown/or white?
am i missing something to help this look better?
any help is soooo appreciated!

As for an idea, I just went to a home-a-rama last week and this shot reminded me of the tall ceiling of your room and the entertainment unit next to it. What I thought might work in your room is where they added the beefy crown moulding around the room. Of course this room is more "country style" but the moulding would look great in your home. Comments (3)You could try dyebrick.com. It is brick/masonry stain. Try on a sample of similar color brick first, though; it only comes off with a powerwash! Assuming of course that you want to keep it....you could also remove the brick and replace with something different. We have done that before, it was very messy but not difficult. Comments (30)I know, you didn't ask about other parts of the room. The photos showing blue paint are nice, but I'd photoshop various transitional rugs. Seems a foundation would be better than wall changes. Soft blue imo is a tad delicate with much white. What about a soft teal, or green?...See More

12 days agoIMO the cabinets should be placed on a plinth base to raise them off the floor.
I think the cabinets should be wider since you have the room. The wall could look a bit more professional with some minor adjustments.
Here are examples of what others have placed on either side of the fireplace.

12 days agoThe pine look nice with your white fireplace, just put a varnish on the pine. The cabinets right next to the fireplace doesn't look right, as shown below, move them over on both sides. Frame all picture in slim black frames, hang some curtains and
place accent pillows for a more finished look.
