The roof needs a good cleaning, to get rid of all the streaks. Your house appears to be stained, not painted. I would stain it again, rather than paint. No brown with the color roof you have. A sage green would work. I would stay away from white since there is a lot of trees surrounding your house, and it will look dirty fast. Landscaping is very much needed.

Red. Deep barn red. The white will pop and it will look so good at Christmas, Fourth of July with red , white, and blue, in snow, with the autumn trees and pumpkins , etc.

The BRIGHT lift of the white is tempting but soooo blah.

Here are some barn red houses with gray roofs, which would look gorgeous in your setting. Choose a deep, not too bright red, with some brown in it so it doesn't scream.

Notice how the houses are framed with New England type hardscaping--slate walkways, rocks, and low native shrubbery, mulch or gravel for low upkeep.

If your house is stained and not painted, then restain it in the color you choose. It will hold up better than paint over stain. Stain allows the siding grain to show through, which adds a rustic feel.

Thanks for the tips about the roof! I saw the streaks but thought it was just wet because we have had so much rain and snow. I’ve learned it might be stained from algae so that’s great to know. And we’ll make sure to clean it before painting. We’ll get a stain because that’s what is on there currently (according to y’all and to the old can the previous owner left in the basement).
