What color hinges would you use for black exterior doors?
Comments (7)Is the dark bronze really dark so as to look almost black, or is it more of a rusty brown color? If really dark, I'd go with the bronze but if more of a rusty color, I'd go with satin nickle as that will match the door handles while a lighter bronze might just end up looking like a rusty hinge. On the plus side, it is possible to purchase black door hinges (see the link below) and it isn't all that hard to change them out after you move in. Basically, just be sure to get the same size and style hinges (they mostly come in 3 inch or 4 inch and with square or rounded off edges) then remove and replace one hinge at a time while the door remains attached and supported by the other two (or sometimes three) hinges. Here is a link that might be useful: black door hinges...See MoreHelp with exterior paint! Would dark paint color look best?
Comments (14)At first, I was thinking a light gray could work, if it picks up one of the brick colors. I think the white trim here also helps balance that pairing. This was a custom color, but it looks way less brown based than Gauntlet Gray to me, more like the steel tones of your lightest gray brick. Then I started to think that with all your roof, a dark gray, like Gauntlet Gray would divide your rather short house. That's probably why it's painted a color close to the roof. Here's a dark gray shorter house,(painted something like Winchester Gray, a poster thinks.) that has a matching roof, unlike yours. Personally, I wouldn't like this dark gray on your house. Would you ever consider going to a chocolate brown, with red accents? Here, your roof is the third color, as is their orangey natural wood trim. Paint the garage the red. Your setting is gorgeous!...See MoreWhat Exterior Paint Colors would work for us trim, door and base color
Comments (4)Can you show us a picture of the roof color? Are you interested in possibly removing the awning? I think a pretty mid-tone blue (what shade exactly would depend on the color of the roof) would look pretty, with white trim. For your door, I would consider a navy though I kind of like the way it looks now with the white....See MoreWhat color trim would you use with these paint colors?
