Help finding pull out hinged medicine cabinets

We're redoing all our bathrooms and want to find something similar to our current medicine cabinets since they are so functional, but I'm not sure if they exist.

They are recessed and in the wall. They have an extra panel inside so the mirror pulls out and you can use it flat against the wall or angled to look at the back of your head. We're guessing they are from the 70s. I'd keep them but they are pretty rusted inside.

No label on the cabinet anywhere?

They can be cleaned up and repainted.

Tall narrow recessed medicine cabinets fit between standard studs provide lots of store space in bathrooms.

And what a great idea!

Agree with refurbishing - the structure looks solid - just repaint and even affix new glass if you need to

If/when we gut our master bath, this is exactly what we will do with newly de-tiled wallspace inside the door (backing into closet in bedroom). However, our set-up will be deeper (made from 11"x1" boards), and open (baskets on shelves). I hope to recess the existing (utilitarian, from Lowes) medicine cabinet into the wall opposite the sink, and place a large framed mirror on the wall above the sink. This way, we're maximizing all the available wall space. Can't wait!

I don't see the value in cabinet doors with self closing hinges but I do like the soft close drawers. We installed a Kraus stainless steel pullout faucet. It was the first one that I have had. Since I do all the cleanup the specific choice was left to me. The DW had a general idea of the look she wanted but and left me to take care of the specifics. Most pull downs come with either a magnet that holds it closed, a weight on the hose or a spring around the hose. Ours uses a spring and it works beautifully. Solid stainless except for the fittings inside the spray head. Button on the backside of the head that switches from full to spray and you do not have to hold it down for spray. I sue this feature to rinse dishes off Beautiful faucet and loads cheaper than a lot of the others you will see recommended on here. Krause has various styles of the stainless from the model we have to more modern. There are loads of threads on here devoted to this subject. Everyone has their favorites.

LWO - I'm reading into your statement, but are you saying that Grohe is a crappy quality faucet? Correct me if I'm wrong. We've had a Grohe LadyLux Plus faucet for years without any problems. It doesn't have to be reset from spray when you turn it off. We love it. When we go to my sil's new house, I can see that that is one place she skimped. Her faucet is a piece of crap. Our Grohe has held up with heavy use and when we remodel we will use the same faucet and add another Grohe to our prep sink. However, if I loved the Kohler Karbon as much as you seem to, I'd try to swing that one if at all possible. I think it's a really cool faucet but I just couldn't justify the cost for *me.* Oh, and I wouldn't go with the cheap screw-on spray attachment.

"if I have to seal up the tilt drawer to get another inch closer. I am short ... every inch counts in my world" I have that problem also - being so short! I also planned to have my fake drawer front turned into a tilt out when my handyman changes my sink this next yr. My counter top already has the sink hole in it (obviously there's a sink in it now) so there's the possibility those inserts will be too wide (front to back) to fit - hadn't thought of that!

There are many ways to get convenient storage. Post the plans for the bath. I would not cling to those in a remodel, simply to see the back of my head.. They look like a circuit box in the wall : (

Baths are feet and inches, clearances.....and yes surfaces and lighting and look.

I removed our plate glass mirror and installed two recessed medicine cabinets in its place. The mirrors swing open in opposite directions, so you can position them to see anywhere on your head, using the mirrors on the inside of the doors. I took out the small medicine cabinet located where yours is and had my builder make a walnut shelving niche in its place, to match the wood in the rest of the room.

We’re just repainting and cleaning them up. We like the functionality of these old mirrors.
