Red Alert! Rug advice please or any advice really?
I am not sure what to do colorwise for rugs, pillows, coffee table, etc. to complete this room. I feel like it might be a complementary color scheme with the greyish blue and the rusty red. I hesitate to put more of either color in the room, but the rug samples i have tried just don't seem to pull it together. The wood tones are a caramel brown. The red floors are throughout the house.
The living room (pictured) has white walls and reclaimed wood beams. The house is kind of a pacific coast, mid-century arts and craft vibe, custom woodwork and reclaimed wood throughout. The are four posts which are 11½ feet apart; the sofas are 80 inches and are from Room and Board. They are in a silver/fog color so just a tint of blue in them. The previous owners left them (and a lot of other items) in the house. They have modern lines and are like new so I want to keep them and save some money. The fireplace is a big focal point and I have ordered two swivel chairs in a greyish blue chenille similar to the river rock used in it. They will be across from the fireplace. The perimeter of the room has a built in window bench and the cushion are in a caramel brown color.

Comments (24)My Eden, also own-root from Heirloom, blooms its heart out in Spring and has recently started repeating in a second large flush. The upcoming summer will be its fourth. Does it get optimal sun? 2) How are you fertilizing it? Does it get too much nitrogen, which can cause lots of growth at the expense of blooms? 3) What is going on with your other roses? Do they all bloom as much as you would expect? Could there be rose midge involved? 4) Where did you get it? Could this be a clone that is virused? 5) How does it do for others in your area? Might this be related to the winter not getting cold enough for this rose to bloom really well? I hope you can troubleshoot it, because this rose is really a stunner once it gets going. Comments (35)My opinion on Ruggable: my daughter bought one 18 mos ago (8x10/light gray). She has baby, toddler, dog and 2 messy, red wine spilling adults (lol) (oh, and sometimes messy me visiting). She has washed that rug countless times, both by spot cleaning and washing machine. It comes out great. I loved the idea of one myself but needed a 9x12 and at time they did not offer it. Now they do (you just have to check to see if your washer accommodates the size) & I bought a cream/white one. I LOVE it. Me and Messy Marvin here + 2 dogs and visiting grandkids, granddog, and messy adults have given my ruggable a workout. Spot cleaning for me has been a breeze-have not had to throw the entire thing in wash yet but I anticipate no problems based upon daughter's experience. (truly just about everything has been spilled, spewed, painted, chalked, thrown on these rugs and no problems washing clean, no staining). We’ve also been trying to figure out what kind of rug won’t shed but will still be soft enough since the kids play on the rug.
