It does seem that all the *perfect* tile is out of my price range ;) Thanks for your tip.... Debrak--Yes. Samples are definitely a good thing! KitchenD--Last nite Ficus started to look kind of dark to me in the artificial light, although it was my gut choice. Like you, I don't find it too "huntery." My new designing idea is that if the color appears in nature, it is a neutral/earth tone. Let's see what kind of trouble I get into with this one. Missybean--The mix-it-up-app is fun! I discovered last nite that Ivy is discontinued. Your bathroom sounds great. Feel like posting a pic? So...this afternoon I took a tile of carrera, my Hakatai samples and my Sherwin Williams paint chip book to Lowes to compare it to the cabinets. I like how the Meadow looks with the chestnut stained cherry that we are getting. I love how the Mint Ice looks with it, as well. I was a bit freaked by the Divinity white cabinet paint next to the carrara. Definitely the marble looked stark white and blue. Plus, the white subway backsplash added its own white to the mix. I am sure (fingers crossed) that once it is all up it will work. Right? Right? (Please nod on cue.) I think I am going to use both the Meadow and the Mint Ice or Ice Green (they both look exactly the same to me). And I guess I will paint the remaining walls cream. Choices overload. Feel free to continue to weigh in. It is nice to have someone to discuss these things with ;)

This post has more pics of your space which I think are helpful in deciding what will work. I *love* the stone on the right, but I wonder if it would be too much small rectangles going on with the backsplash you have (which is beautiful, BTW!) So I guess my vote is for the one on the left. I feel like when I post something I like, I get told to just go in person and that I'm not being helped to go forward and how it's not helping when when I just posted stuff I like. Ideas thrown here has helped me. I agree with those who are saying go with neutral, quieter, go with what you like, so I feel like I am moving forward. So it can get discouraging/overwhelming here so I don't know...I might take a break from here. Bluemarble, is exactly right. I've said before too. I'm not interested in shopping in person for many reasons including the pandemic. Even if it wasn't for not going out, I've still always been an online shopper mostly when it comes to furniture and what's what I feel comfortable with right now. And bluemarble is spot on that I knew I didn't like the table the next day I got it and it's what I felt threw me off and once it's gone, I'm trying to go back to neutrals/cozy and what I like - earthy colors, minimalism, metallic, grays, neutrals and yes......a cozy feel. Even if it's industrial or farmhouse, scandinavian, or boho, I can't worry about that. As long as I can focus on neutrals/cozy room idea, then I should be fine. As lindacottonwood says, there are too many irons in the fire. Thanks for everyone's help.

As someone who moved into a home with a bathroom with stark white countertops (thankfully not in our primary bath), I think they aren't used as often because they show every smudge of toothpaste, hair clippings, mascara, etc - and your eye goes right to the mess. It's enough to drive you bonkers. At least with a little veining or movement, it distracts from the normal everyday stuff and prevents you from wiping the countertop multiple times each day. I've put in marble countertops in otherwise neutral or B&W baths before - it's actually a pretty traditional/classic look. I do like where you're going with putting some wood in there - it will add some nice warmth. Also, I think some places (although not Pottery Barn perhaps) allow you to order the vanity with no top. If you find one that is otherwise perfect, check the item options to see if that's a possibility. I'm very anti the afterthought 4 inch backsplash piece that comes with most vanities (I prefer to tile behind the sink), so I have taken that route in the past. That said, I would second the suggestion to consult with a custom cabinet maker (especially if the only thing stopping you is sample sizes - I'd imagine they could give you an entire drawer front if you really needed it!). The price is often negligible, and it provides you with more control over the numerous options that are clearly very important to you (I say that in solidarity as someone who is known for refusal to accept limited options!). The other benefit of going custom is sizing - a custom cabinet maker can build a unit to any width, so you can maximize the storage and counters to your space. They could also give you the two drawer/open shelf combination you're describing (although keep in mind those drawers may be limited to allow for plumbing for the sink). Another random source is Etsy - there are a few sellers who make vanities out of repurposed cabinets that might appeal to you. Check out CuratedHavenDesigns (I've had their "ornate bathroom vanity" listing saved for a while now - if only I had somewhere to put it).
