Well, I managed to build an entryway table this weekend...so there's no going back now - no more couch on the wall! Oh and those unsightly sidelight curtains found their final resting place in the trash too. Whoever came up with these window films is genius! Thinking maybe chalk painting the table, sanding a few edges to expose the wood and some storage baskets below for blankets and such.

I don't know why builders, men, insist on placing thermostats, alarms, outlets, smack dab in the middle of a wall. they could have gone 2 feet to the left and been fine. what you could do is 'hide it in plain sight' and decorate around it. or just do the other side I don't see that cool gray working against your warm red wood door. pick a warmer wood tone. Also too, the style is a bit modern looking for that door. I'd do something like the last picture bring in a larger rug

You have a very traditional home, that wall is very modern. I think it would look out of place. There are a ton more ’board and batten”? styles that you could use and would fit in. If you were looking to moving towards a more modern look throughout your home, thats another story. If you like the wood feature wall look, Id consider a square grid or more rectangular. Something more simple, traditional . I like the look tho. You have a beautiful home.

Hi Diana Bier Interiors, LLC, yes its not that large, as i wroteits nit enough to place an askeby for example, not too small as my previous apartment's narraow entrway of one meter and yet not too spacious. The only thing i wanted was to have at least something different than a bench and a mirror and caninet for shoes. That is just so boring as it can be done with much narrower entryway too. i wanted to take a bit advantage of these extra bit of space. Right now have Two Ikea Trones staked vertically for shoes and samll things etc. and two ikea Kallax cubes put together to form a kind of a bench, topped with cushions. i have also put ikea knispa storage boxes inside the Kallax cubes, it improves the look a bit and also serves for extra storage etc. The wall is pretty empty.. And yes i cannot throw a nice rug or carpet as the bathroom door opens outwards as is to be seen on the floor plan. it wont allow for a carpet , but just for a thin mat maybe.

This one isn't arched, but you can see the gold has nice contrast with the table. Make sure it isn't oversized for your console. If it's returnable there's no reason not to try it. You also have too many things on your console. Remove two of the larger items and substitute something smaller or nothing at all.

Are you thinking about hanging an arched mirror to echo the arched doorway? Take some brown paper and cut out a template with the dimensions you’re considering to see whether the double arched effect works. Before you do that, reconsider your decor. You have an ornate, European-style table with dark wood, and the light, country-style candlesticks and bird cage (?) are fighting with it. Besides the lamp and candlesticks on the table, more are reflected in the mirror, creating a busy, chaotic effect. Simplify. Please don’t paint the table— lean into the ornate style, don’t fight it. If you go for a gold mirror, make sure it isn’t too shiny. Think old English country house, not new McMansion.

If you use a lamp, you don't add candlesticks to the console also. I think the mirror and table are fine, but the top is overloaded with stuff.

The table and mirror are quite lovely together. Paint is not going to help whatever feels off to you about the combo.

Clear the top and put only a brass or gold lamp there on the right side, covering part of the mirror. It will be the bright bling you need. Traditional or contrasting contemporary will work.

Try clearing the top and placing a lamp there from another room in your house and post the pic so we can see.
