DH Chipped Quartz Counter - Can It Be Fixed?
Comments (6)I had Silestone in my previous home. The surface chipped/pitted like crazy. It might have been a defective piece. Anyway, I finally had the original installer come out and repair it. They filled in all the chips. It was not invisible on my piece. Maybe it was a bad repair job? We moved soon after that, so I don't know how they held up. Ok, reading back over that, I see I was not very helpful, was I? I'm guessing it can be filled, but it may be noticible. Tell DH he owes you a ________ (fill in the blank with something you've wanted for a long time). Francy...See MoreCan my quartz countertop be fixed?
Comments (5)Thanks for the replies. Today we met with the contractor, the designer and the manager in charge of our project at the company we are dealing with. I told them I had done some research and I had come to the conclusion that a quartz counter-top which has been sanded over an area about 5" by 20" can't be restored to perfect condition. The manager insists that the granite & quartz specialist get a chance to repair the counter-top. The manager also says that if, after the repair, we are not happy and we ask that the counter-top be replaced by a new one, he will replace it without asking any question. The repair man is coming a week from today. I am not happy with this. Even if the repair guy does a great job, how do I know that it will last? I think that the manager is hoping that I will soften up and in a week, when I see the "almost perfect but not quite perfect" repaired counter-top, I will be fed-up with the whole thing and I will say "Fine"....See MoreNew black quartz counter top hazy & marks easily

Comments (149)We ended up going with Pristine, and it's absolutely beautiful. It's been a year, and it looks brand new, no stains or issues. I love it even more than expected. My husband is thrilled and the whole room looks elevated. We used BM Simply White for the cabinets and SuperCore oak natural for the floors. Check my profile for pics in progress (old floors, tho). We've chosen Satori venatino marble subway tiles for the backslash and all these whites are compatible-- no issues with warm/cool undertones fighting. I'll be sealing the marble on all 6 sizes via a dunk in 511 sealer. Can't wait to see it finished-- the marble could've been risky against a marble-look quartz, but it looks absolutely perfect and gorgeous together....See MoreBob z
