I'm with Bustopher on LEGEND. I've had mine for around 12yrs or so, and it doesn't bloom all that often. Maybe two good flushes per season. It spends a lot of time growing tall. Peaks out around 6-7ft. I got GRAND AMORE a couple yrs ago, and I really like it. Mine's in a big pot and it blooms several times, with big fat pure-red blooms. Form is nice, and they last fairly long. LOVE'S PROMISE is the best of the bunch as far a blooming goes. Almost always in bloom. And loaded with them! Makes a nice robust 5ftx4ft bush. MILESTONE is certainly not a solid red. It has a bright fluorescent coral-red-pink center, that is hard to get a truly good photo of because of the intensity. At least with my camera anyway! I love it, but it's not a real great repeater. But the blooms last forever.

For the past three seasons it has been strictly a hobby. I love eating figs, and growing the trees is a passion to me. Unfortunatly, you can only keep just so many fig trees as pets on 1 1/2, water well fed, acres (and alot of that has a house and all the other stuff a property has on it) before you realize that you will soon run out of room and have to part with more than a few. I grow cuttings from old farm and wild trees. Some may be new varieties. Out of well over 400 trees, I have only about 6 that I purchased from nurseries that are supposedly identified varieties (Kadota, Celeste, Mission). I will be selling trees from my nursery next summer, but only after I determine that the specific tree is parthenocopic (self fruiting). I have several interesting varieties that I have grown from trees that have figs that I have never seen anywhere else before. FF

Jannike, I planted it in a very large and deep hole but couldn't amend the entire bed since other roses and plants were already in situ. I wish I'd known this before I put the first rose in the ground about 8 years ago, but it's too late now. Yes, my other roses are almost all putting out new growth, even Rhodologue Jules Gravereaux, which is in even more shade but already has several buds on it. Kingcobb, I bought this rose on January 12, but six roses that were own-root in 2-gallon pots that were purchased on January 29 are actively growing and had buds, most of which I've pinched off. However, it may just be that this rose is slower to develop or that it needs more sun than it has at present. Two of the roses that I bought on 1/29, Gruss an Aachen and Pink Gruss an Aachen are in an area of low light and both have already bloomed. I think I'll just adopt a wait-and-see attitude until we're closer to summer and this rose has a longer exposure to the sun. I might try a fish fertilizer solution and see if that helps it along.

You might have pushed me over the edge with your pictures. Beautiful color and foliage. What about the size of the blooms during the spring and fall. I have a couple of spots in the garden that will need a new rose this coming year.
