That is what I am reading about, Lisa G. Our 12x12 glue down vinyl tiles in Colorado withstand a lot of temp changes but it's not like in TX, where it can be 80 one day and snow 2 days later and be in the low 30's. CO also does not have the humidity TX does. The foundation is crawlspace and subfloor is unknown. Assume plywood but I have not lifted the existing vinyl. The downstairs bedroom, upstairs and staircase have the original wood flooring. I could hope that is what is under the vinyl but I am thinking it is particle board sub floor, just by what seems to be under a piece that is coming up by the stair case. Sheet vinyl may be the way we have to go if our uncontrolled climate conditions will make plank not ideal. Thanks

The right vinyl plank brands will do excellent along with carpet in bedrooms. It is very common to do what you are doing. Most people prefer a little more warmth in the bedrooms but for clean ability and durability overtime will do LVT in other areas. Go for a nylon carpet along with a reputable LVT brand with a stable core such as CoreTec or Floorte just to name a couple. Even the best brand of LVT will scratch (they are not scratch proof, or pet proof just better resistant than some other flooring options). It is easy to clean, and if you choose a good quality LVT it'll do wonderful and I wouldn't consider a good quality LVT as a "Cheap" flooring option, just a great value for an active family. @V M sorry, just seeing your post above. We are just now finally breaking ground on our home so I don't have pics of the flooring to show you from my house. I will come back and post when I do but that will be some months from now. But we are paying, I think, 15K for our Multi-Length Rigid Core SPC floors in color Sandhill. Our house will be 2975 sf and this floor covering will be throughout the home, except in 3 of the full baths and the utility room. I'm not exactly sure how many square feet that leaves but hopefully you can do some rough math. Everything goes through my builder so I don't have an exact price per square foot to provide you. I also am not sure if this includes labor to install.
