Need help pick out all new furnitures for living room

last month

I need to buy all new furnitures and rug. Hope to work with current wall color, brick fire stove and this greenish flooring. Can really use some help on furniture (sofa, tv console, coffee table, end table) colors, styles, decors that can work, look for inspiration. Thank you!!

If you plan on buying all new furniture, I would consider painting the room to coordinate with your new furniture for a complete transformation. I don't have the dimensions of the room but going by your photo here is a visual of my suggestions.

The sectional is from Ikea and was worked out with their planner for that specific series so you can adjust the modules to your room. I also show cordless bamboo roman shades for your window treatment.

such a nice large room! I would paint the walls all the same (lighter) color and get rid of the half and half. i would buy a sofa and two chairs in light colors and avoid a dark furniture ”set” like the one in the room now which reads “90s basement man cave.“ (sorry!) don't buy a set. because your TV is nice and large, you need a larger tv console and because the room is such a nice size you need a larger rug. i would pull the furniture off the walls. i think the photos on the wall are too small for the space and also are hung too high. i would also remove all the items above the stove and remove everything from the Tv console.

We are interested in redoing our bedroom and buying a new bed and furniture. Our taste is very clean and streamlined. We are concerned about a few things and would like some opinions. The bed is the Colette Bed from Crate and Barrel www.crateandbarrel.com/furniture/beds/colette-bed/f1480. We love the bed but want to make sure it would look nice and compliment the furniture. The bedroom furniture is Henkel Harris - the Today collection www.henkelharris.com/categories.asp?roomID=2. We would be getting 2 matching nighstands, the triple dresser and the bowfront tall chest with the saber legs and velvet bronze hardware. We saw the Today collection in person, and it seems very plain in a solid color. We had also seen it in a two tone, and it looked really nice but we are afraid that is trendy and we will get sick of it. However, the two tone we would get are very close in color so it does not have too much of a contrasting look (coffee color casing with hazelnut drawfronts). We are not sure if this is the way to go. And if I do, do I get all of the pieces in the two tone or just get 2 pieces (the dresser and chest) and get the 2 nighstands in solid coffee. Any suggestions or ideas would be greatly appreciated. I have a fireplace and carpeting a lot like yours and I painted the room SW Latte and I like it very much. I have a beige couch and burgundy leather chairs and olive green accents. They all blend well together. If your room doesn't get a lot of light, then the next lighter color might work - Nomadic Desert. Other possibilities I envision would be a gold beige like SW Blonde. It would also blend with the rug and look nice with the brick, I think. Or a neutral green like SW Grassland or Svelte Sage. If you want a gold with more punch, try SW Golden Fleece or a green with more punch, SW Wheat Grass or Rye Grass. Just depends on whether you like walls to be neutral background shades or whether you want them to make a statement.

It does look like the room where leftover furniture goes because it doesn't play well with others. The china cabinet could be a good focal point as JudyG suggests, but only if you have something to go inside it that's worth looking at. Otherwise, lose the loveseat and put the china cabinet on that wall. Fill it with books, if nothing else. Alternatively, lose the china cabinet and keep all the seating. Add art above the sofa and loveseat, a rug and curtains, and call it done till you're ready to decide how you actually want to use the space.

Frame those family photos more substantiallly and lower them. I’d definitely paint the room after I chose my new furniture (no matching sets). Your rug seems to be too small but I don’t know what to suggest pending your furniture choices. I like that your TV is large and at a good viewing height. Remove everything from the console.
