Hosta Best Of 2023 ......................................
Comments (25)Beth only one of those is in the lab. the market will not pay you what they are worth. so i will be cloning the best ones and selling them directly. cloning is not tissue culture it is more or less a division process avoiding dangerous chemicals. BAP should only be used in a very controlled environment. It is a dangerous chemical if miss used…….i will not use it. it will be relatively small quantities,. i want to avoid all the viruses and marketing hype and all the bad things that big business brings. its just the love of gardening and plants. … just one man dabbing around in the garden....See MoreHosta Companion 2023 ......................
Comments (60)indianagardengirl, your hellebores are loaded! I want to plant more this year. Right now mine are under snow, but we need the water so I'm not complaining! debra, you don't want to be cutting down daffodil leaves. It's hard to place bulbs so that we don't mind seeing them die back, but that's how they'll get energy to come up next year. But it's nice when we can finally clear the dead leaves away....See MoreHosta Yellow 2023 .......................

Comments (32)Laurie, your lemon lime always looks good. Have you divided it to make all the clumps? It’s a good look! Old_dirt, your hostas look great this year! They look so healthy and in perfect shape. I can’t believe you had cutworm damage early on. Of course, I like the wavy edges of your Surfer Girl. Beth, Cracker Crumbs looks so tiny and cute next to that big plant label. Ann & Debra, it’s so good to see the Crocus. Those are my first flowers in spring, so I’m watching for mine to make an appearance. Ann, you have a lot of squirrels so I wouldn’t be surprised if they’re the culprits, but I have seen Goldfinches picking at the leaves of my Crocus in the past. But it was only the yellow crocus that they went for. So funny they picked on those. I wish I knew the reason they like to shred the yellow petals. Did they see them as a rival and were jealous of their bright yellow color? Or by eating them, would they become a brighter yellow color to attract a mate? It left me wondering. :-)...See MoreKW PNW Z8
