Your ground water is not quite cold enough for passive cooling. It should not rise above 46ðF ~ 47ðF. You will also have to remove the humidity from the fan coils and have enough water flow from your well for both cooling and domestic water usage. How do you plan to responsibly dispose of the water used for cooling? That could be up to about 600gph. You would not likely return the water to the same well as the temperature will may rise above the level of viability. SR

i'm with them....split the scene. requires jacking up the center of the house. may or may not be easy to do. might be in sand in which case good luck. might have had powder post beetles make swiss cheese of the main beam... time to punt. might not have enough floor joists .... ugh. in any case. once you jack up the middle, i guarantee you, NONE of your interior doors will close anymore and ALL of your plaster walls will be cracked. can you dig it?

brutuses- I am not familiar with Candace Olsen but I will see if I can find some examples of her work. I like the idea of the silver/blue- it seems kind of cool and breezy. Gray seems very drab to me and tends to suck out my cheery mood. I do better with brighter colors. Yayagal- I would love to see some pics of your house if you have some. I would love to paint the floors but with two young kids and a dog, I don't think it would last long. I think part of me has been stuck on keeping one color through the entire house but I looked at some paint today and picked some very pale cool shades of pink, blue, green, and a whitish color. They all have a hint of color and I may do each room in a different color because they flowed together so well. If I do each room a different color would it tie them together using white trim/doors?

Chess-yeah that's me - yes, that is exactly right! the owners dad built it about 70 years ago. Jamie Ludwig - I posted some additional photos that did not seem to upload before Saypoint - Was thinking I can't do seating on either side of the door because on one side you have fireplace and the other side is the entryway to the other room. We tried the sofa facing the fireplace but it did not seem to work well as it felt like you walked into the sofa when you came in. Also tried the sofa in front of the tv with the back to the door but then again felt like you walked right into the sofa and it was too close to the TV.
