Thank you for replys. The room is big, so if you put the sofa like in Kitch4me photo ( we had it like that before, I will attach a picture), it looks massive in the middle of the room. Maybe it would work with a smaller sofa. It also seemed too far from the TV. So, I moved it closer, but then looking from other angles it looked like sofa is in the way of the door. Gracie,01, I will try to arrange it like that and take a picture. My only issue is it would be off centered. See where the hallway opening is and the master bedroom door. Turning a sofa there, sofa would be looking at the master bedroom door, not at the TV. Also, it seems far again. The room is large if the furniture is too close to the walls. Moving it towards the center of the room works better, I am just stumped on where to put the TV. I do appreciate the advice, thank you for taking the time.Disregard the two chairs, I was trying to see how would it look with a loveseat there. The sofa was moved farther back at first, but it looked awkward.

I appreciate the answers so much! This community is great. A few things: We have an entry table on the wall behind the 2 seater couch (the couch blocks the view). I want to create a nicer area, but living room is first. The couches are brand new and staying, we love them! Maybe we aren't traditional style, I've just been saying that because we don't want modern or farmhouse, rustic doesn't fit with our house style, and I don't really know what a lot of the other types mean. We want something relaxing, not too bold or eccentric. My husband has a high stress job and we really just want a comfortable relaxing home. Gray isn't a color trend for us, its something we really like. Also, the blinds were a quick fix for privacy when we moved in. They were about $3 each and allow us some time to figure out what treatment we really want. @Mon Thank you for your ideas! I love the curtains, I do want something with a pattern (except geometric which makes me feel like I am in college for some reason). I like what you said about the feminine touch, I didn't realize the sofas were masculine until you said that. I think I can balance it out though with accents. I'm having a hard time visioning the chandelier instead of the fan but I will highly consider it. The fan is new, I get the feeling the sellers just put anything up there because it isn't really large enough for the room. @Elena Ermolaeva Your designs are excellent! Is this to scale with my living room? This layout gives the flow I was wanting but I was afraid of putting teh couch in front of the window. I didn't want to try to force the tv as a focal point because I am in love with that large window. I'm definitely not afraid of going a little darker with the walls. Even though our area isn't large, I feel like with all the windows and natural light I can afford to go a little darker. Plus adding in light curtains balances it out. When you suggest shelves, do you mean on the 7'7" wall where the large sofa is now? I didn't think of that, I was just trying to work around the wall. Great ideas! Since privacy is a concern, should I go for nicer blinds, or a shade, along with curtains? Thanks everyone!

CT, I'm Preksha from Styldod and here are a couple of layout options you could try for your living room. It would be best to buy a 3 seater and a couple of chairs for seating. A slim media console or a wall mounted TV can be placed by the entrance door. You could place a couple of chairs that could be moved around and a tall bookcase in the corner. The couch would then go to the wall opposite the TV. You also have the option to put the TV between the two doors and split the seating across the opposite wall. This would mean that you would enter right into the living room, but is the best use of available space. I would also recommend some tall storage units and a nice rug that will help ground the space. Hi. I've reproduced your room in a 3D build to help you visualize in a better way. To maintain a foot flow I have centered the sofa facing each other. You can add one or more swivel chairs which you can tuck away or corner them when not in use. Mounted tv on a wooden panel opposite the fireplace. This way it serves as a family room as well as an entertainment room. Perfect for a winter evening when it's too chilly to leave the fireplace but also wouldn't miss your favorite show. If you can get rid of the piano, you can place two chairs and a bookshelf and create a little reading space. Let me know if you would want me to work on more layouts. Always happy to help!
