Irritated - Teasing of Dog-Rant
Comments (12)Sorry, I will disagree with the others. For me, that guy has had his "last chance" too many chances back. He would NOT be allowed on the place. I don't care about his age, it is the fact that the man had total contempt for you and what you say. He is totally sure that he is better about dogs than you, and he can take your dog if it comes to conflict. Obviously the outcome could be up in the air, but his chances might not be high faced with your dog. He does NOT believe that the dog really means what it says, and WILL CONTINUE to push the limits to get the dog to come after him. Doesn't matter what YOU SAY, or your brother, SOME situation WILL HAPPEN to get him in conflict with the dog. The only question in my mind is going to be WHEN the attack takes place. If this moron man is not forbidden the property, or dog locked up with PADLOCKED gates, the dog is going to hurt the man. The man CAN NOT resist proving that he can "take" the dog if he is attacked. The whole situation is a lawsuit waiting to happen. Dog is now proven "aggressive with numerous incidents" that you will have to testify DID happen, in a court of law. Those will be pointed out as "Warning signs" that you ignored before dog DID attack him. Doesn't matter if you had warned him, told him not to enter. It will easily be proven you harbored a "dangerous" dog and did nothing to prevent the situation from happening. Even if the man doesn't sue you, his insurance carrier will to get costs back. Sorry, you will lose the dog and the case. Your home, farm or business insurance will jump accordingly. I would call your brother, say you have changed your mind. You don't want the man on the property again for any reason. You will be gambling that the man will follow directions, and he has ALREADY proven that he won't. His contempt for you (perhaps as a female) or authority figure, has been shown, along with threatening (Just in FUN!!!) the son, and plain ignoring where he is allowed or not, is now well known and displayed. Sorry about your brother and his help, but is the CERTAIN problems this man will bring, worth the trouble allowing him on the property?? Young or older man, this guy needs to find the results of his bad choices, no respect, in his paycheck. He has wasted the opportunity for more chances. I am sure you have heard the one about "No good deed goes unpunished". He would not get another chance to be a jerk, from me....See MoreWARNING: A Rant about slash and burn garden crews
Comments (37)I agree with you, Diane. I know when the neighbors' gardeners will be there and make sure all of my north facing windows are closed when they are expected. I have nearly given up washing my truck. I have to park on the street because the street is collapsing and needs re engineering. Instead, the City keeps adding more pavement to the surface so when it rains, the water overflows the curb and runs down the drive, through the garage, work room and once, into the kitchen. So, to prevent the issue, there is a HUGE mounded "speed bump" of concrete which has to be traversed at a sharp, 45 degree angle to get IN to the drive. My truck won't fit. The car does. I wash the truck, some blower jockey blows the street and my truck is trashed. It's almost just not worth it. Kim...See MoreA rant on SEARS
Comments (28)If it were me, I would return the units and buy new from mom & pop. I'd be concerned about possible damage from the bolts not having been removed showing up later, whether they will try to void the warranty saying you must have abused the units, and whether you'll have any other problems with that extended warranty. I had an extended warranty with Whirlpool and they required using A&E for service. I believe Sears warranty service is the same. I had a repairable washer, but A&E screwed up and ordered wrong parts and sent out total idiots not once but 3 times. One of those was supposed to be an early call and the guy showed up after 7 pm and barely spoke English. He was worse than useless. I had no working washer for a month when Whirlpool told me that under the service agreement, they would not pay for any further service or parts. We went to Sears to get replacement units and had an order with a prompt delivery. Without telling us, they cancelled the delivery because they didn't have an installation part that we were able to pick up at the local hardware store. They said they couldn't keep the delivery date -- it had already been changed in the computer and they wanted to reschedule a week or more out. Cancelled and bought at Best Buy with next day delivery and a better price (they honored the sale price at Sears and charged less for the service agreement). Recently tried to buy a fridge and freezer from Sears during the 30% off energy star plus state rebate sale. Units showed in stock, but then we were told one was on backorder and would be a month or more. If it was late, we could lose the state rebate. I called and asked our salesman if they could assure us we would have it in time, given the huge rebate and sales events all over the country, and what they would do if it was delayed. He sounded annoyed that I would ask and said he would get back to me. They were not nice when I called back either. Long story followed, but we would up getting a stainless model of the same fridge at a better discount so that it was priced nearly the same as the white (so I have a snazzy laundry room -- LOL) and a scratch and dent freezer for the garage for less. I canceled the Sears order. I won't buy another Whirlpool appliance, I won't buy appliances from Sear's, and I won't use A&E service. Not worth the aggravation. I know you've had a big headache already, but I'd want to avoid future ones....See MoreOT a little bit - is it just me or is this not kosher? Etsy rant
Comments (23)Storklady, It is okay to raise the price of something once it's listed. A Seller can change the price as often as they want, with no time restrictions. Etsy does not control or dictate to us what something is priced at - we do. There is no bidding on Etsy, except in Alchemy, which is a site on Etsy where customers can list something they want, a purple tutu, for example, and ask other Etsians to bid on what they would charge to make the purple tutu. Then Sellers are bidding against each other for that particular sale. Etsy is a "buy it now at this price" business. But I still think it's poor ethics not to honor the original price of an item that a potential buyer has just inquired about. Especially one who was asked to wait to review more listings of similar items because she'd shown interest in those other items before making her final purchase. If it had been me, I'd have sold you that map, and all the other newly listed maps that you were waiting for, at the original price. But that's just me. I am not an aggressive saleswoman, just a conscientious one. I like repeat business, and that's no way to encourage repeat business, IMHO....See More- 9 months ago
