Comments (119)LOL! Come on, be ornery! Once I found the little froggie, I realized that your pic wasn't THAT blurry, FTM. It was my sense of size (things may appear larger than they are) that had me thinking the leaf-with-eyes was the mack daddy frog. :D It's great to hear they love crickets, since I moved some pots the other day, and found a multitude of them, large and small. The frogs have been singing their hearts out all over the yard, and I know they come up to where the crickets were, since that's where my watering can is. :D I love yummy tummies! Comments (44)I really like that, A R. So warm and inviting. I painted the living room in my first house a muted terra cotta color ... had it for 10 yrs and never got tired of it. Glad to see this old thread. I remember when GW had a "Gallery" board, and there were individual threads for specific colors. It was not only great eye-candy, but a great resource, too....See MoreAdjoining rooms and deep, dark colors
Comments (36)Teacats and awm, thank you... I loved those sheers, too. They came from a lucky find at someplace like Calico Corners...the yardage came in the perfect shade of ivory for my walls, and was railroaded on the bolt with a ten-inch hemstitched hem already in. They were a soft, un-shiny polyester, and they came down, went in the washing machine and the dryer, went right back up on the rods barely damp, and looked perfect for fifteen years. I tried to find the same stuff several years later with no success, but I imagine it's out there somewhere. I think I have to stop posting those photos. We sold the house two years ago, and I am still a little homesick for it, despite my enthusiasm for the life change that came with it. The people who bought the house also bought all the wall lamps, all the curtains, half of the rugs, and most of the furniture that wasn't coming with us, so a lot of what is in the photos isn't ours any more. All in all, a very good thing...but still... :>\...See MoreVery dark north facing DR. Is there a rule with paint colors?
Comments (53)I took some photos but don't know if I will ever get them posted. Plus the lighting was bad because I just shot them without any adjustments with off indoor lighting. It was an upscale old folks home where my uncle lives. The whole place appeared to have been designed by a very smart and capable decorator. Everything was color coordinated on all the floors, although each had a unique personality. But the whole thing was designed to give off a warm. cozy and upscale vibe. Problem for me using it would be that none of my things would match those colors. I have that "northwoods" color scheme going with maroon, blueberry, taupe, brown, forest green, tan, plum and sage. It'll be interesting to see how I pull off blending my mom's "spring/fall" color palette with my "winter/summer" one. I can use her colors if the intensity and tone is right. For example, I am fine with dark rust, watermelon or terra cotta but peach is death for me....See MoreMike M.
