Building a Home Flooring Rate & Review Vendors

Anyone have experience with Beaulieu Canada engineered LVP?

I'm building a house this year and am looking to install over 1600 sqft of LVP on the main and second floor of the house. I have a few samples right now from COREtec and Beaulieu Canada. I'm loving this color in Ramsay #2264: https://homeowners.beaulieucanada.com/en/flooring/vinyl/engineeredluxuryvinyl/2264

I've checked out the stats for both of the floor samples here, and they are the exact same except Beaulieu has a top surface of UV-Cured Polyurethane & Ceramic Bead Technology, and CORETec has a top surface of UV Acrylic. Beaulieu has a lifetime warranty with a "no questions asked replacement" feature.

Thickness is the same, both have a bevel, I did a scratch test on them both and COREtec shows wear a bit more. We dragged furniture over them both repeatedly and the COREtec showed more of a shine where the wear layer was aggitated. They have the same measurements, A&R Carpet Barn where it is supplied mentioned they are so similar, but Beaulieu has a slightly easier locking mechanism for installation, and condo-grade sound deadening so its a bit quieter. Both have a cork underlayment, both have a solid SPC core VS WPC core. Like... the same.

However, I've heard lots of great things about COREtec, and haven't seen much about Beaulieu Canada. They've been around for 55+ years, but aren't as big because its a Canadian company. Anyone have experience using this flooring?

I feel like I should be able to trust in the recommendataion that the flooring company provided and said they are virtually an identical product, but I am such a review seeker, its a little unnerving purchasing a product I haven't seen reviews for.

Anyone installed this? Know of this product line? Thanks in advance

For value over time, I like 3/4" quarter sawn oak.

I suggest actual wood flooring. I have yet to see LVP in the real world that looks or feels like wood (perhaps it exists); apparently some people like it, but I don’t know why. I’ve had oak flooring throughout my home (except the bathrooms) for almost 40 years, and it’s still in excellent shape; I’ve only ever had to have the kitchen floor refinished since it was installed in 1987. I raised two kids and many pets in this house. Wood flooring is comfortable, warm, timeless and beautiful, and…not plastic.

You can get that same vanity cheaper from HD right now (HD owns HD, if you didn't know). I'm planning on using that one. I expect the drawers will be lousy and there's a likelihood that the sink may not be centered exactly, but for the price I can live with it. I haven't seen this one in person but I've seen other models at EXPO before HD closed them down, and they are adequate if not stellar. @AJD. I know this an old post, but I am curious as to what the tile is in your original post? Was that a backsplash tile or countertop? If it was for your countertop, please let me know what it is as I really like the look of it. Only difference is that I am looking for a lighter European White Oak LVP, SPC with minimum of 20 mil and natural or micro bevel. Having the hardest time finding something!

The Torlys link will be spectacular...and they will NOT be as low as $3/sf. Torlys is a premium cork brand that has branched out into vinyl, etc. They don't make anything 'budget friendly'. But then again everything they do is FANTASTIC...so no wonder the vinyl floor doesn't feel like vinyl It's from Torlys. A LOW END engineered hardwood is $5/sf. And the amount of head ache that goes with it will be horrible. I would stick with laminate or vinyl in that price range. And for a good laminate you will want to look at the higher priced products = $7/sf. A low-range vinyl can be found for $3-$4/sf. I personally prefer a HIGH END laminate for $4.50/sf instead of a low-midrange vinyl for $4.50/sf.

You are going in the right direction with LVP to hold up against scratching. I don't have experience with the Home Depot products, but they have great reviews. I noticed one reviewer comment about the repetition in Shoreline -- I know when I've helped clients with flooring selections, I often find several choices based on the individual plank photo, but then easily eliminate many after viewing an in-room pic due to this reason. Have you gotten samples from the store?

I can't afford real hardwood flooring. Maybe when we replace that LVP next time we can, but building a house ain't cheap. If anyone has experience with Beaulieu Canada engineered LVP I'd love to hear your experience.

Assuming it's a real photo of an installed floor, the Ramsay looks rather fake because of the repeating plank images. From the photo, the Coretec Madrid Oak looks more realistic to me.

Yeah that online mockup looks awful, its not a real pic. I'll upload a photo of some of the planks layed out at the store, and another one with it at home. My dog is smelling it haha. It is the second to the right.

This is less a design question, and more of a request for hearing if anyone has had experience with this brand. I'm happy to make my design choices, just crossing my fingers someone else has had this brand installed in their home. I re-tagged my post now.
