Help, I am stuck, and I don't know what to do
Comments (38)nwdrip- Thanks for chiming in! I am thankful for any advice and I appreciate you commenting on my thread. I think painting the back of the cabs dark brown would be really cool with some colorful dishes. Suero- I never would have picked a rug like that, but you are right, it works. My only thing is that I am, in general, trying to avoid red. I had red accents all over my last apartment, and I want to go for a different feel. However, I get to see what a teal looks like, and how patterns interact with my curtains, so thank you!!! I have continued to look at other rugs. Hubby has been almost no help. He is very picky on what he wants, but he won't help me look. I have browsed through approximately 4000 rugs by now, and every suggestion I have had, he has shot down. :( Here are some of my favorites right now. Please tell me what you guys think: A B C D E F G Hubby wants a border around the edge, doesn't want flowers, only wants a hint of color, doesn't want stripes, doesn't want beige. Please note that most of *my* faves at least have one of those things. This one that I posted earlier appears to still be hubby's favorite: But he's not sold on it....See MoreDon't know what to do. Comments (3)I'm a little unclear on how much of the house you are putting new floors on, but if you are doing it all, I wouldn't change colors for the kitchen. Bathrooms are okay as long as they aren't wood look....See MoreThere's a stray cat in my guest room-- don't know what to do :(
Comments (78)Olychick, shelters charge fees to take unwanted pets because even if they do get donations, etc., the cost to shelter animals is astronomical. Donations can't possibly cover it all. Food, vaccinations, staff, vet fees, surgeries, medications, supplies, heating and air conditioning-- it all has to be paid for in some way. It makes me scratch my head when people come into our shelter and say that they want to adopt a cat, but they don't think they should be paying a fee. How do they think we can survive this way? And if you can't afford to pay an adoption fee, what happens when the animal gets sick and has to go to the vet? We get tons of people turning in their animals because they got them for "free," but took them to the vet for the first time, freaked out because the services cost money and didn't want to pay for medical treatment. I don't think the $50 to take in an unwanted pet is a large fee. It's pretty reasonable. Our shelter charges $75. If the person can't pay the $75, we ask for a donation that they feel they can pay. If it is a person who has found a cat, we don't charge them. Therefore, we get plenty of liars that claim they "found" a cat and want to turn it in, when in reality they are turning in their own pets. We get people leaving their cats in carriers at our front door when we are closed and catch them on video running away. They've left dogs tied up in the bushes in our back yard. At least they are bringing them to us rather than letting them off on the side of a highway (which is also a frequent thing). But honestly, asking people to pay a fee for taking a pet in, giving it shots and medical care, spaying/neutering it (usually these people don't feel like paying for that either) is more than fair....See MoreI don't know about this layout. Comments (102)Honestly, I look at the layout I drew yesterday. The cabinet is nice for extra storage but I should have kept some of that space for more counter. With a 24" vanity, guests can pretty much just put a tooth brush and toothpaste. Where at the other stuff go: On the toilet seat? On the floor? some little shelves above the toilet would help (but personally I don't like that (I am always afraid that will drop (either in the toilet or on the floor very close to the toilet). Again this is your MIL house, she certainly can have any size of the bathroom she wants but 7'0" is the minimum required to be to code. She could check with her contractor....See MoreSingleVisual1 1
