This reminded me of an event that I still laugh about...about 8 years ago (and Madonna was "in") I went to a "outdoor barbeque's show" . One woman in line for the meal really got a lot of attention, and apparently it upset her. In fact she was right, people were talking about her. She turned around to people already seated in the benches with their dinner and said,"why are you all talking about me?" (she was in her I'd say early 40.s) I couldn't stand it any longer, so I told her, "if you didn't want all this attention you shouldn't have worn your bra on the outside of your tank top-so you must want the attention." True story. Now the tank and bra were both pastels...top blue, bra pink. Plus both were lacy...but it seems so strange for someone to get upset about what should be "common sense" to me...Any way she settled herself down. Just had to share.

I bought a pair of white trouser-style pants last year at JCPenney. I just checked the label and they are Worthington, which I think is their store brand? I'm sure they weren't expensive because a) I'm cheap and 2) I won't pay a lot for white items since they need frequent replacement. They were thick enough not to be see through but not so thick or lined that would make them too hot to wear in the temperatures I would be wearing white pants. I had the tailor cut out the back pockets to eliminate lines. I've worn them once, on vacation in the Dominican Republic. I guess I like the look on other people but I'm just not that comfortable with them on me. Anyhoo, the point is you should check JCPenney.

I'm no spring chicken and can still wear 3-1/2 inch heels. The stability of the shoe and fit on your foot is very important. So many shoes are cheaply made and no one will be able to walk in them. The girl in the video obviously picked one of those cheap shoes/boots. You have to try many pairs and be very picky. We lived in Tokyo for a few years and I was entertained by watching many of the younger women trying to be fashionable ... they will buy a shoe even if it too big ... you can hear them coming ... CLOP, CLOP, CLOP ... they looked like toddlers trying to walk in their mother's shoes!

I thought the ones in the picture were skinny jeans. So are skinny jeans more like leggings? I found that the trend for skinny jeans this year are ones that are not skin tight, and slightly higher rises. The skinnies I've been seeing on trendy fashion blogs look more like well fitted straight leg jeans, like how eld is describing the fit of her old navy ones. eld6161 I'm like you - I want to update my wardrobe, but can't let go of my skinnies just yet. Pro tip: I've found a lot of great jeans at thrift stores these days. Good skinny jeans that are a slightly looser fit, plus a few other styles that I could test drive. I love thrift stores for experimenting with changing fashions. If I wear something a few days and decide I don't like how it looks, it had very little impact on my wallet or the planet.
