How to size Low Profile Picture light?
Comments (3)Try the lighting forum. Davidtay has always been immensely helpful with specifics. Linking his response to when I asked for help lighting a wall map. (Note that while we ran the cables for this, we haven't yet added the lights). P.S. - What a great painting! Comments (6)You may want to check out some websites to see if you can find what you are looking for. Juno Lighting, Lightolier and Nora Lighting all have these types of cans. The housing will probably run you more than 20.00. These are not typically found at a Lowe's or Home Depot but at lighting showrooms. If you go to the Nora site: NoraLighting.com, search for NHIC-926QAT (new work sloped ceiling can) or NHRIC-926QAT (old work sloped ceiling can). Both of these may be covered with insulation. They are, however, 6" cans. If you want something smaller, you will need to look for low voltage. If that is the case, I don't believe Nora makes a low voltage sloped ceiling IC can. However, you can use the regular low voltage IC can and put in a trim of either an adjustable gimbal ring or mini eyeball that can be adjusted to go straight down. You can search for the NLIC-401QSAT housing Everything depends on the amount of space that you have above the ceiling because the IC cans are deep -- at least 8"....See MoreLow profile undercabinet light switch?!
Comments (16)Gibby to the rescue!! Your kitchen was the one I was thinking of! Thank you for posting a picture for me to show my husband! Where do I get a tap light switch? My switches will be for the same lights in the same place as yours. I really didn't want them on the backsplash, yet the light above the sink needs the switch right there. I don't want to be at the sink with wet yucky hands and realize I need more light and drip my hands all the way across the kitchen to turn on the light! :-) Solar powered - thank you for the wiremold link. I'll definately look into those and see if that doesn't solve my problem as well! We're chugging along slowly here. I'm sure it will be a month before my lights, switches and countertops are all done. But I can see the light at the end of the tunnell!! Thanks everyone!...See MoreJimmy W
