Furniture for small home office

Need advice on furniture for small home office. Room measures 7 x 11. I need a better desk and chair. The desk I have now is too small (21 x 48). Would a corner desk work? Also, in a rush I purchased a Lazy Boy chair and it’s a flop for the room. It’s a recliner and I have to pull it away from wall to recline. I’d like a cozy chair or maybe a loveseat that reclines in a small space. I'll also need a side table and lamp. Thanks!!!

Can’t see a love seat working, but if you look at on-line small home offices, it might help with some decisions and placement. It’s hard to help with placement without an overview of room with a diagram.

Because of the cleaning factor I either go with completely to the floor or high up off the floor, nothing in between. Too difficult getting the fur mice (cat toys) from under those small spaces. You might want to check with kitchen cabinet stores. We put built in's that we bought from our kitchen cabinet manufacturer. They have several floor as well as wall cabinets to chose from. That way you can pick out what type of wood, color, configuration, that suits you. Of course you have to supply the desk top. We were lucky and found some inexpensive scraps of grainite for our desk tops.

@Jess. You're Welcome! It's difficult to get a perfect room and your needs in a small space. For me, placing the desk there, would be fine for these reasons.... This is a Dual-Purpose Room 1. Your desk has a light weight feeling to it, it's not bulky, although one with more storage might be better functionally. (which is still ok) Not a lot of choices for you 2. Because you enter the room moving to the left, that pathway is all clear. 3. You won't run into a desk at current space, when entering the room 4. Better use of the space between the closet and doorway, given it's construction 5. Visually, a better, more inviting floor plan overall 6. Furniture placements are more aesthetically pleasing (better balance) 7. Better use of space you have 8. Sofa & coffee table area are inviting and functional. It won't feel like there is nowhere else to place the sofa in your home 9. You will 'feel' good about the room and like going in there 10. The room might even feel larger

Sherwin Williams Cyberspace in a small home office?

Thinking of using Cyberspace (dark navy/grey/black) in a small home office. The room is only around 10 x 11 and has one window on the eastern wall, gets medium light throughout the day. The carpet is white/light grey and office furniture is gray washed. The room also features a chair rail on each wall so was debating of doing all over color or just cyberspace on bottom or top. White on the rest and white trim. Ideas/suggestions? Don’t mind if it feels dark/cozy but don’t want it to feel like a depressing cave. Photos show paint samples and furniture color.

Yes an L-shaped desk (5’ x 4’) where the long side runs along the left side of the window wall would fit nicely. If the short side has shelves underneath, better to have it on the right so it can be easily accessed from the other side. All of your books/binders could find a home on those shelves. A configuration with a file cabinet would help with storing all of the materials currently on top of the existing shelving unit. Then your memo boards could go on the wall above the desk with your diploma on the adjacent wall. And I think if you pull your recliner out from the corner just enough so that it clears the walls in the reclining position and place a floor lamp to its left and a small side table on its right, it will fit/look fine.
