updates on resolutions?

I actually make resolutions all year long. About 3 months ago, I bought equipment to make my outdoor bike and an indoor bike. And I began doing it for fun. I figured out, it wasn't work. I decided to make a more deliberate attempt. I was going to increase the time, always using the most difficult gear. Well, it's been so long, I was only using mid-range gear. Oops. Ha!

How's it going for anyone else who likes to try fun new things at the beginning of the year?

My only resolution this year is to make 2024 the year I consistently spell arrhythmia correctly, and it's an uphill battle. I've already fallen off the wagon.

You know I don't make resolutions these days. I just value each day I have and try to live my best life. Many of the things we would really like to change are out of our hands. The best we can do is work on keeping ourselves mentally and physically fit. Even that could have a different definition from one person to the next. I do have projects I resolve to finish, but the focus is on living my life to the fullest. Riding 'til I can't ride any more and finding humor in life even on the bad days. Goals are fluid.

Well Rain Rain Rain :)) Reallly Needed it & everything growing so well I guess they say its going to be here till weds may 17th . I try to go poke a plant in the grow in between the rain :)) My ponds are flooding have been watching to see if my fish are swimming away or not. anyway I just wanted to let any Know that your Box to djm906 had arrived but she was back in the hospital & that is why you did not get a thank you . or responce back from her. Here is a letter I recieved from her daughter deb today I feel as if doris has went throught so much this pass year . she could really use our prayers & cards to cheer her up. also maybe a few new doctors . vee I want you to know that you will get a box after the rain :))) well I have a friend in the hospital & will be in & out this weekend but just wanted everyone to know about our friend doris . if anyone wants to send her a card I have her addy if needed . thank you all susie I'm sorry I didn't let someone know sooner. My brother had taken the box when it arrived and potted up the plants at his house for her, and he just said they were from someone in GA, and honestly, when she was in ICU, I didn't have time to go online when I got home. Hello Helene....wonderful idea, I tried LOL But he does love his room (and honestly, it's the bigger of the two with a larger on suite as well as a huge walk in closet where as the other room is smaller with no closet (victorians!!). Wynn's room though has a better view and a private deck (which I will have to remove access to) and it's right outside of our bedroom door, which I think will make good sense initially because it's pretty common for orphanage children to not sleep well. This is the thomas room: They actually recommend not doing rooms this elaborate for Chinese Orphans because they can be overwhelming after having been in an institution all of their life so I'm going to do his much simpler (and then get more elaborate as he wishes). I'm currently toying with brightly colored circles or bubbles floating from the floor to the walls to the ceiling even in different colors and sizes and using simple shelving intercepting the larger bubbles to display thomas trains on (he is inheriting the thomas somewhat LOL). DS1 wants dino's now and he loves the shelf that used to hold trains as it now is a perfect place for all of his toy dino's. I'm actually kind of excited about doing the boy's rooms. They will both go from queen beds to twins (two in each room so they can sleep in each other's room). DS1 wants a bunk bed (so not victorian LOL) and DS2 will likely have an L shaped set up as he's too little for a bunk IMO. Given the dino's will likely last for just a year or two I'm going with decals or simple painted shapes LOL No more mural wallpaper for me! The cursing as that was going up cost me millions in quarters in the no curse jar :p

New Front Load Speed Queens

We are having the exact same leaking issue with out new front load speed queen washer. Purchased it in Nov-2015 and after doing a few loads of laundry noticed a small dribble of water leaking past the rubber gasket and door and onto the floor. It's pretty small (a small drip) but it's definitely noticeable. And it's completely unacceptable (especially given the cost of the machine). A service technician came out and replaced the rubber gasket/boot but it didn't make any difference. I haven't called him back yet but based on what I see here maybe they will try to replace the front panel next. Either way it definitely seems to be a manufacturing and/or design defect. Other than the leak I am very happy with the machine. Does anyone have any additional updates on this leak situation with their machines?

YOU do not cut out one piece of tile at all. The tile guy does it, and it's very simple. This is a mistake I see alot of. The round plastic piece that's left on the valve after installation-- tile installers think you need to cut to that piece. That's there to make sure the DEPTH of the valve is correct-- that piece should be flush to the face of the cement board (+/- 1/4"). Once that's determined as being right, that piece of plastic means nothing. The ONLY things you have to leave open, are the valve itself, and screw holes for the faceplate. But instead of having a 4" diameter round hole, all you need is about 2 1/2 " of square hole to leave everything open that needs to be. Very rarely is that not enough.

I was listening to a radio show where they talked about resolutions and goals, and the way to keep a resolution is to set a goal, and checkpoints. I think that is what I have to do for a resolution I made last year, midyear. I got started on it but I need structure, so setting checkpoints will help. I think. I hope.

Oh, the resolution was to learn to, and then actually carry out, repairs on some instruments I play.

That's the kind of resolutions I am talking about. I would love to be one of those folks who finds it horrible when I can't ride my bike, but I'm not. I got to where I was thinking, you went to all that trouble to buy the equipment and set it up, you like to do it, so just go for a bit. And that was nice, but I'd really like to follow through and do it often enough it doesn't kill me to go longer. That I could go as long as I want! I am building up to that.

P.S. Toronto, I have spent my last 20 years working in cardiology, with an electrophysiologist, and I still misspell arrhythmia on occasion ;) You'll get there.

New Years never, ever works out for me. This year was no exception, though I'll admit I barely tried. I've posted this before and I'll surely post this again, but Lent is my best bet. While I may bring some spirituality into it, it's not really a religious thing for me. It's the structure: A defined start with a defined goal and end point. That helps make initial goals less daunting. What I hope for during this time is a change in habits and routines, and a feeling of well-being that carries me well past Easter, hopefully permanently. It took a few year of trying, but I made one of the most monumental changes to my life this way.
