Help with location of first floor guest bedroom and bath
Comments (6)Wow, I really appreciate the speedy responses here! I am so glad my husband and I are not the only ones who think having the first floor guest room on the same side of the house as the master is not nuts!! The realtors in this market (Dallas and suburbs) are so adamant about these being totally separated. But I agree that this is a benefit when it comes to resale if someone wants a nursery close to their master. I feel like printing out all your comments and showing them to my builder and architect because I just know they will throw a hissy fit when I mention we want to move the guest bedroom. We definitely will put the guest bedroom's closet and bath, and the master bath and closet in between the master and guest rooms to provide buffering and privacy. Actually, my husband plans on using the room as an exercise room anyway (we have no kids) so it will be better for him to have it close to the master. IF anyone else wants to chime in with an opinion or idea to make this work, please do so! Thanks!...See MoreOne bath down, one to go -- Vintage inspired guest bath remodel
Comments (105)Lovely sense of style! Bravo! We investigated porcelain marble look-alike tile but we decided on real marble which we will have to care for without any acidic products. Beware that there is a repeating pattern in marble look-alike porcelain tile like (on wall paper which will give away the secret.) We found great deals on Amazon and at Lowes for Bianco Carrara subways, pencils, chair rails and floor and shower floor hexes (1/3 the price of tile stores). We found a gorgeous remnant for our shower bench at a marble and stone shop at an amazing price. I can't wait until it's done to post photos! But back to your house... it's gorgeous!...See MoreNeed help with paint color please for guest bedroom/bath
Comments (27)Continuing the edge combe grey into the bedroom and bath would give you a brighter room and a neutral backdrop to tie the spaces together. Then your art and linens would add the color which you could easily change. You could pick a shade darker off the paint chip if you didnt want the hall, bath and bedroom all the exact same grey. Do use bright or saturated hues in decor if you paint the walls all neutral....See Moreguest bath mirror and lighting help
Comments (4)I think if I could do it over, I'd have the sinks closer together not a giant bank of 24" drawers in between. 24" seems like a large space between the mirrors, or more if I choose something smaller than 24" wide for the mirror. A vanity that looks like furniture is more my style, but this is what I have. Beth, The fourth pic posted seems to have the largest space between mirrors (closest to my situation). I could have a large vase or something. If I selected the 2 mirror option do you think the 24 x 30 mirror would visually a poor choice since the right mirror would be right up against the corner? Would it be ok or better if I selected a 22 or 20" mirror? That would leave 28" between the mirrors if I went with a 20" mirror and that just seems huge. I did tape up cardboard in a 24 x 30 size. Attached are a few pics before the counter went in....See MoreLeigh
