Need suggestions on curtains for family room
Comments (7)Congrats to you and your new little one!! I have been looking for curtains/drapes for my dining room slider and I have found some great choices on jcpenney.com and also country curtains.com. Your room is lovely and I think a colorful print would be great... it would be shame to cover all that beautiful moulding but there are inside mount valances or how bout a panel on each window with a tieback.. for example, left window with tieback to left and right window with a tieback to the right.. then the moulding won't be totally hidden under panels on both sides of the window...hopefully i am making sense.. and for the slider either a matching valance or a slider panel.. I have ordered panels for my slider from jcp that are backordered but should be shipped any day now.. My room is painted Behr winter wheat with white wainscotting on bottom half of the walls so I went with spicy red to add some more color to the room.. I'll post a pic when they come in.. I hope I was some help but most of all wanted to welcome you to this forum. I am quite new here myself and I am sure you will get some wonderful ideas from the amazing people on this site....See MoreNeed suggestions to warm up Family Room
Comments (5)First -- consider switching to a warmer tone on the walls -- one that is still "neutral" -- but perhaps a warmer deeper taupe, warmer brown-gray etc. And yes - consider artworks -- go to art.com -- and simply browse through their categories .... always a good way to find ones that might appeal to you. For example (JUST an example) -- try browsing through the "Abstract" category -- I've included a hot link to take you right there ..... look for ones that have that wonderful blue, silver etc. Yes -- consider adding a bit of a pop of warm color with a glass bowl -- full of oranges or lemons or even limes (just a way to TRY out a color!) OR take a red sweater or bright pink tee-shirt -- and simply cover one of the pillows. See how the color works for you! "Texture" is another way to add warmth to a room ..... try switching to a dark woven tray on the ottoman OR a couple of dark baskets on a shelf or bookshelves etc. Here is a link that might be useful: art.com -- Abstract category...See MoreFamily Room: Need rug and coffee table suggestions
Comments (20)Hi Jck910! I think the rugs you suggested are beautiful. I like the middle one the most. I think the others are not quite my taste. However, I am very curious to see if it meshes well with the taupe sofas and blue accent chairs....See MorePillow suggestions to finish family room, PLEASE
Comments (8). Not sure of what pattern to use. Should the pattern mimic the tray's ripples, or should it echo the honeycomb aspect of the peacock. mirror, or be zebra stripe to mimic the nautilus shell pattern or solid light and medium tones to soften the contrast between solid dark sectional or should it be ochre /brassy? The old decor scheme had ikat wall art with color ccoord pillows, so I'm leaning away from that. Re:PICS Sorry, but I can't take a pic, as no memory left. Unable to delete work project pics or send to cloud.. An old realtor listing pic won't be accurate as to elements of the room. Trust me when I say this is a small space that just fits the sectional, with a one solid wall for artwork, one wall for the big tv, and another wall of windows, no rug, no end tables, no lamps, just a coffee table. which is why I created a mood board. I can post pics of what I have. -wall color: -wall art- (four frames surrounding a peacock mirror) shown above -Coffee table- (Chinese leg square shape) shown -windows- cream linen -floor- medium toned -...See MoreKW PNW Z8
