Comments (5)I like the 3 stylish ladies for your bedroom. Can't see much about the rest of the art and furniture. Making a guess that the slipcovered sofa is too far gone to keep. Do I see two of the chairs and footstools? They look a bit under-scale for the brown sofa. CraigsList is often a good place to get rid of the overflow and make a bit of money to invest in new pieces. Those chairs (or one of them) might do well for seating in the master bedroom. I think the brown sofa is in the right location. Center it on that wall so guests will be welcomed into the room by it. I would get a piece of art 75% as wide as the sofa to hang 5" above it. Your end table is too tall and not the right style. I'd replace it with a pair of tables and lamps to complete that wall's vignette. Then pick up a coffee table to place 18" or less from the sofa. Then let's see how much space remains. Is TV in the cabinet? If so, that should probably go opposite the sofa. How many do you need to seat in this room? Here's a chart for getting the table and lamp heights right....See MoreHelp arranging unbalanced living room
Comments (66)Hi everyone. Of course I came here for fresh eyes and/or expertise. I'm very grateful for your ideas, whether I love them, need some convincing, or don't like them. I just got a little overwhelmed and needed a break. The macrame table is moved, regardless of couch position. It looks stark to me, but I'm just used to seeing it there. So again, thanks for the fresh eyes. We tried the piano behind the couch, and while it definitely has merit, we actually prefer the "softer" path from the stairs to the dining room (rather than the tighter u-turn, the hard right turn into the living area, then the hard left turn into the dining room.) But it was definitely worth trying, and anyways, it will be a nonissue once we move the piano out of the room. I actually like the idea of a shelf behind the couch by the windows with lots of short plants (maybe frames) on it. I'm going to guess that's a bad idea because all the focus should be on the moose/fireplace? Teach me! @lobo_93 That fireplace idea looks so cozy and I like how the moose looks with it! Thanks for helping me visualize something darker and heftier....See Morehelp arranging living room furniture
Comments (13)I would paint the entire room a warm white, including the fireplace. Romabio can match masonry paint to your wall paint. Increase the depth of the mantel with a beefier piece of rustic wood. Wall mount the TV where you have it now. Drywall the pass through closed and put the sofa there. Add a pair of swivel chairs in the window area. Build a "L" bench in the dining nook and use a pedestal table with a couple of extra chairs that can be pulled over to the seating area. Replace your coffee table with an upholstered bench (maybe with storage inside.) Top it with a tray and it can also be used for extra seating....See MoreNeed help arranging living room
