Help with furniture arrangement in long, skinny living room
Comments (137)Quentin, Thank you so much for the pictures! I did not see them until just now. The rooms look great! I see that you brought down the second red chair for the living room. And, put the bookshelf in the room too. That looks much better. Hopefully it works better for you and your family too. The two white chairs together in the front room looks like they work better for you and your family as well. Thank you again for the update. Best Wishes to you and your family, Marcie...See MoreHelp with living room furniture arrangement
Comments (39)I still think that there is just too much furniture for the room size. However, if you are feeling the need to keep most of it in there, try this. Move the switch the couch and loveseat and then put two of the chairs on either side of the fireplace angled like you had them. Maybe that will work better, maybe not. Your pieces are lovely and I know we all understand your frustration having gone to a designer and still having issues....See MoreFurniture Arrangement - Narrow Living Room w/ Corner Fireplace. Help!
Comments (3)Ok, so here’s some ideas you may not have though of. Flip flop the dining room with the living. Depending on how your breakfast bar is done, you child just mount the tv there. Build a divider wall on top of the current bar, but leaving it open. In one photo, the tv can spin so someone could watch the tv while in the kitchen. Do a divider wall again on top of the breakfast bar but only go halfway across allowing for the person in the kitchen to still be able to see out. You could have a small divider in between the two rooms perpendicular to the sliders or you could place a lift tv cabinet there. Lots of options-just depends on what will work as far as electrical/cable access....See MoreHelp needed - Living room furniture/decor arrangement!
Comments (18)As far as arranging furniture with the columns, I would tend to ignore them and group seating around the fireplace. You are always in good company with a more flexible 3-seat sofa and two upholstered armchairs (or swivels.) I think a sectional will just add another complication to the space. What is opposite the fireplace? Are there any floor outlets near the columns or actually in them? Is there any electrical wiring in the bulkhead above them? They might be interesting if lighted. You could also install some glass shelves between the two that are near the exterior wall. Lighted from the top, that would be a great display for something like colored blown glass. As for the lighting, you can find less expensive variations on those. Scaling them for your room size will also lower the price somewhat....See MoreRelated Professionals
