which is it--145 degrees or 180?

I'm planning a pork shoulder roast (just over 5 lbs) for Thanksgiving. I haven't made a large roast in years--and never had a meat thermometer before--but looking on line I'm getting temperatures ranging from 145 to 180. That's a huge difference! I don't want meat falling apart either--just a nicely done roast.

Help please.
