Bath faucet now rotates in full circle
Comments (2)I'll look to see if that's where the stop is. I removed it completely and retightened it, so that shouldn't be a problem. One actually has to loosen the escutcheon (is that the right term) pretty far before the handle gets loose. But if that's where the stop is, I may have missed it....See MoreBar/Prep faucet vs 'real' kitchen sink faucet.
Comments (9)"My concern is that it Would be very annoying to not have enough room to wash your hands without them bumping the back of the sink." Well, it depends on the particular model. Some "regular size" faucets are smaller in scale than a prep sink faucet in a different model. You've probably noticed that, like many things, faucets have generally been "Supersized" in recent years. In any event, most "prep sink size" faucets are only a bit smaller that the "regular" size in the same model. Here's a picture of my prep sink size Ladylux in my main sink, which is 25 inches interior width. I have 6 inches of clearance between the back of the sink and the water flow, so bumping the back of the sink or faucet is not an issue at all. There is also more than sufficient spread even without using the pull down feature. Note that I also tested the "bar sink" size of the same faucet, and that one looked a bit small to me given the overall scale of the sink and kitchen. Sorry for the mid-construction pic, but I thought this showed the prep sink size faucet in context of the scale of the rest of the kitchen. Bottom line: pay close attention to the spec sheets of the faucet you're contemplating, and make sure the clearance from the back won't be an issue....See MoreHansgrohe Allegro E faucet...any reviews from users?
Comments (7)I found this online where they show the handle mounted to the front. For some reason I can't download the installation instructions to check. So why exactly would I want the handle mounted on the front as opposed to the side? I've seen people talk about this but wasn't sure what the benefit was. Here is a link that might be useful: Hansgrohe Allegro E front mount handle...See MoreHow much swivel for a kitchen faucet?
Comments (13)Wow! I had no idea there was such a thing as a countertop control for the garbage disposal! What a great way to "use" that extra hole in the stone counter! We actually had the built-in soap dispenser once upon a time and hated it, so we got rid of it, and the only reason I would re-install one is to address the hole from the original sprayer to make things look nice when we sell the house in three years. The disposer control so close to the action would certainly be more convenient but I will need to research the safety angle -- I'd always been taught that the disposer control should be remote to reduce accidents/personal injury. Anyway, back to the center handle..... I must admit that aside from my practical reasons (left handed person/countertop congestion avoidance), I have aesthetic preferences for the center handle. Symmetry and all that. Plus, the second sink in our kitchen has the center control, much like the one emho showed, and some consistency would be good, transference and all that: When I started looking for a gooseneck/pro-looking faucet, the first one I considered was designed so it could be installed that way, so I suppose that set my expectations some: https://www.costco.com/The-Foodie-Single-handle-Pre-rinse-Kitchen-Faucet-by-Danze-Inc..product.100301823.html This one is shown in other photos with the handle in the center back or on the right. You may wonder why I didn't just buy that one -- reviewers complained about the spray control because it's a twist instead of buttons or a rocker switch. When I tried the faucets at the Ferguson store, I could tell that I wanted the button type and that the swivel would drive me nuts, even without cold, wet hands. While seeing the center handle in this product probably set my expectations that this installation flexibility might be the norm, boy was that wrong....See MoreJoseph Corlett, LLC
