Comments (37)msrose: the Taj majal is gorgeous and right in line with everything I am drawn to for my countertops (I am also remodeling my powder room which also has the travertine floors). So, I think my travertine is the same as the one you are considering. We installed it about a year ago. I absolutely loved it until I started planning my kitchen and powder room remodel. I, too, considered wood as my alternative, but ended up with travertine because of 1) cost and 2) pool. The kids are constantly running in the house dripping wet. Regardless, at this point, I honestly wish I had chosen wood. It is sooo much easier to coordinate countertops, paint, and backsplash tiles with. In addition, I have read on numerous design blogs that the travertine is associated with the tuscany look which is trending out. I am not a trendy person, but we will likely only be in our house for another 8 or so years and need to be considering resale value. With all this said, I love the warmth of travertine and still think mine is beautiful. I will post a link for you in a mintue from a color expert regarding travertine that you might find helpful. Best of luck!...See MoreDoes anyone else here have problems with weeds growing in your pots?
Comments (38)Yes Mike. It is a very handy tool. The bent tip makes it really useful. You can grab the base of the plant and jiggle the base to loosen the roots and pull it out. Very useful when reaching in tight spaces especially for succulents. In bonsai the back of the tool that likes a little spade is useful to tamp down the soil, smooth it out and tamp down moss on the soil. I have two of them because my wife seems to like it too and it disappears from my tool box from time to time. Come to think of it I have two of most tools....See MoreDoes anyone have this crazy problem with your leather furniture?
Comments (25)raven, I don't believe it would have been cleaned or conditioned yet, as it's quite new. We'd decided to get leather for our next furniture, but hadn't budgeted it yet, when an amazing offer came up. A friend's (wealthy) friend, wanted to move back home (overseas) but didn't want the hassle of listing and selling all their furnishings. She was giving away everything FREE, to anyone who could use it. Of course, we were thrilled to get a lovely leather set, that is in excellent condition I slip on my DD's sofas as well, but just realized that my DS has a leather sofa too. I never slide on his, and apparently it's Nubuck leather. It's very comfortable also, but provides more traction. My leather set obviously can't be returned to a store to buy a more suitable set. But maybe I can buy a piece of Nubuck leather to just put under me, when I sit. If I put it top side down, so that it won't slide on the leather sofa, perhaps I won't slide from the Nubuck piece, lol!...See Morebpath
