Maybe I won't hate my kitchen any more-lighter backsplash(pics)
Comments (52)lynn2006, thanks for the link. I did find it. I think I've got it narrowed down to a 2x4 in silver sands slate or a quartzite in the golden white or oracle. I think the brick shape is a nice medium between the diamond I have now (and like the shape of) and 4x4 squares I don't care so much for.The store we hoped to buy it at (prices are great) doesn't carry Crossville, and that's where we'll be stopping on our way home from vacation, but I really want to look at the Oracle too so maybe we'll have to make an another trip to the Big City. Thanks very much to you and to all....See MoreMy kitchen photo stolen and used in Ad
Comments (60)Now you know how Metallica feel. It's a sad fact of the Internet age: people feel like everything they find is theirs. They download music. They scrape articles and put their names on them, take photos and use them in ads. They don't feel like they're doing anything wrong. The people who used your photo in the ad may honestly not understand they did anything wrong. If it honestly bothers you that they did this, contact them, tell them calmly that you're really uncomfortable with them using the photo to promote their business, and could they make another ad? That might be all it takes. And if they're jerks, all the threats in the world won't make them do anything. I'm not a lawyer, but I think from my work experience, and what's posted here, that your legal position would be murky. One thing you CAN do, as starpooh pointed out, that makes photos less appealing to scrapers, and makes them MUCH easier to identify, is watermarking. Watermark those suckers all over the place. They'll choose softer targets. Photographers and other artists who make their living selling images, but need people to see their work to buy it, have various ways of getting around the bad guys. Some won't let images on the 'net at all. Sad. In the end, I think we all have to accept that everything we put out there is being stolen in some way....See MoreI have been remodeling our kitchen. Comments (11)This is the most peacefilled spa kitchen like I have ever seen. You have done so great with your choice of paint and counters and cabinet colors. It was obviously made for this tone of tile. I love what Claire suggests, but for some reason am growing weary of the thousands of grout lines in backsplashes this past few years, and I am sure they are easier to install for the crew that works it, but isn't this just a beautiful picture? https://www.houzz.com/photos/waikiki-chic-2-contemporary-kitchen-hawaii-phvw-vp~32466 and with a bit of texture: https://www.houzz.com/photos/waikiki-chic-2-contemporary-kitchen-hawaii-phvw-vp~32465 and with your paint: you will see the tile color in painted wall on the left and your paint choice hue(very close to it) on your right in this sitting area...https://www.houzz.com/photos/waikiki-chic-1-contemporary-living-room-hawaii-phvw-vp~32464 Enjoy looking at all the photos in this set I hope the link works!...See MoreCan I add more boho without adding more clutter? Comments (34)I’m laughing at the thought of my squishy, comfy pillows being called forbidding or them fighting with anyone. I took a couple of more pictures, including the chairs without the pillows and I think you’ll agree that the cushions make them look more inviting, not less. Also rearranged so that people can see that the sofa facing the fireplace, chair at each side will not work in the space. I tried it as the most obvious answer and discarded it. It’s awkward to me, like the sofa is turning it’s back on everyone. Also, due to the placement of the fireplace, the sofa and chairs cannot be centered on the fireplace or the bedroom will be blocked completely. I can’t pull the sofa back much more without blocking the walkway. The fact is, space for the ‘living room” is much smaller than you think. I also pulled the rug away, to demonstrate that the rug and sofa not going together is kind of the least of this room’s problems. I wish I could get a good angle that shows just how off center the couch and chairs are....See Morenicole___
