My Heuchera picture is stolen by online seller!
Comments (7)I'm a "stealer" of photos for my Nursery at our site and our storefront on eBay, but I try diligently to give credit for the photos...if there is someone who claims the pics as theirs. In some cases we send an email and ask permission first....in most cases though, we can find pics that are not "authored", copy-righted or claimed. These are usually accompanied by my own practical pics of me holding examples for size and color in my hand, or sitting next to a coke can for perspective! Many times the original photos are used only as long as the plant I am trying to show has not bloomed at the nursery as yet...because when it does I take sufficient pics myself!! see above....JT PS...Heuchera is doing quite well under the pines in East to EasternCentral Texas 65 miles up IH-45 from Houston in God's Country of New Waverly!!!...See MoreAlison....your kitchen used in ad????
Comments (26)I ffind this happens all the time. The funniest one that happened to me was when I received color literature from a copper sink company with a photo of one of my sinks in it. When I called to ask about it, they said it was not my photo and how could I be sure it was my photo. I told them I used that sink every day, it is in my kitchen. They promptly took the photo out of their literature. I still laugh when i think about it. with photos being everywhere online, in a free for all world, it is difficult to keep photos from going places where they are not wanted. I suppose we could all watermark our photos, but what a hassle. I am glad they took your photo down, especially because they photoshopped it....See Moresuggestions my 'new to me' kitchen - with photos!
Comments (4)Blue does not have to be blah or depressing, even with only indirect natural light like you describe. With the light wheat counters and the red oak floors, you have warmth that can support a cooler color. In fact, cooler may give better balance than a tan. I'm biased, because my walls are blue/green/gray. Palladian Blue is one of the samples I tried on the walls. I ended up with Quiet Moments (also BM). My DD 11 described it as "cozy" of all things... not a word I would have chosen, but definitely not blah or cold. The green tones give it warmth. It's a very welcoming color but beyond definition as blue or green or gray, which is what I love most about it. I'm not a wallpaper person (and you said you are removing wallpaper) but bmore's suggestions sound lovely as well. Blackcats' color combination sounds intriguing and bright ... I've seen the lavender and blue combination and loved it, never seen the yellow with it on walls like that....See MoreAdding a country flair to my kitchen (i.e, chicken wire)
Comments (10)When we first moved into our house, the kitchen cabinets had fabric inserts (just in the upper cabinets). They didn't have chicken wire or glass. The fabric had been in there many years and was faded, so I wanted to make new inserts. I bought several different small pieces of fabric and tucked them into the cabinets for a couple weeks. It looked funny with all the different patterns, but it was a good way to audition the fabrics and decide what I really wanted. I chose a dark green fabric that had a tiny white print on it. (One of the fabrics I considered was an ivory background with a blue print of chicken wire on it!) We remodeled the kitchen in 2004, and we no longer have the cabinets, but here's a couple photos of them when they were being stored in the basement: And when they were still in place: These cabinets were handmade, so they may have been put together differently than yours are. But basically, the cabinet door was just a frame, with no glass. The fabric had a "rod" pocket at both top and bottom and was shirred onto a thin, narrow piece of wood. The wood was nailed into the cabinet frame, using very tiny nails. I had to carefully remove the nails and wood "slats" when I redid the fabric....See Moreglad
