Comments (0)We just moved into our new house and I do not like the exterior color choices at all. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I do not like how brown it is. Thoughts on what to change to brighten it up. My thoughts are to paint the brick in Ballet White. Thank so much!...See MoreNeed exterior roof/paint colors for mid century home with blonde brick
Comments (4)Gray roof is good. I would not go with the black trim. Black paint and even black metal fades or oxidizes and shows spider webs, dust and damage more than lighter colors. Maybe a gray-blue or gray-green trim? To me, cream siding close to the brick color would be good with an interesting trim color, but it would have to be a good match. And maybe paint the stone in front by the trellis the same cream. There is a school of thought that garage doors should recede, so match the siding, but your's are front and center so you may as well make them look interesting. There is the concern of maintenance requirements on exposed wood garage doors, though....See MoreAdvice needed! brown metal roof, blonde brick & wheat siding
Comments (7)It is definitely a home created in stages, and this is reflected in the frontages. It needs something to bring it all together. The dark brown colour is not lifting it at all. The siding isn’t a ‘bad’ colour, in and of itself. This leads me to suggest a white to lift the frontages and to tie together. Paint all the trim white, including the trim on the windows in the brick wall. An option would be to remove the shutters from these windows or if not removed, paint them white too. Go for a white front door. Bulk up the verandah posts to a square post, and again, white. This scheme should be repeated across the back to unify the rear view. Agree give the brick a good wash. If the brick continues to look disconnected to the siding, consider a change to the surface - render perhaps? Or paint? in the same tone as the siding to unify the frontages....See Moreahkloch
