If you’re going for formal, I’m not sure benches are what you want. How about one armless chair and a bold and beautiful round table?

Thanks for adding pics. The foyer space looks really large. Can’t see the stairs or where they start but guessing there are stairs as the upper level is partly shown in second pic. The large mirrors & benches you’re considering might work flanking the entry door but what about the middle of the room? A large round table centered under chandelier would be great - as shown in the picture littlebug posted. And, maybe a large round rug under the table….

Hi thanks for the responses, I just want to keep the space open and clean. I don’t want to cut it up with a table. But thanks for the suggestions. I’m just looking to fill those corners and need help with what fabric suits the benches best or any other bench suggestions.yes there is a staircase ahead with a pretty balcony railing above all stained black. It’s dramatic enough I don’t really want add too much to he space . I hope to replace front door as well.

Beautiful space! Maybe a large green plant in a pretty pot with lots of black in its color /design in the niche straight ahead at stairs? I don’t think adding a table would cut up the space - in fact, I think it would add to it. Not a large table & maybe not wood either - something black to tie in with stair railing & chandelier color. No rug either - just a table with a floral arrangement or great piece of art on it.

I think it is going to look odd and unbalanced if you leave all that space empty and just place benches on those wing walls.

Do you have a floor plan with exact measurement? You can use graph paper to draw it out. Include doorways, hallways, etc.

Thanks for all the input. Regarding the space looking unbalanced,It really doesn’t look odd at all in real. The home is a very open floor plan. To the left is formal living and right is formal dining and behind the formal dining to right of staircase is open 2 story family room. All visible from front entry. So it just looks like a nice open space and there is a nice flow from room to room. I do agree a plant by the staircase is a nice idea,I did think of that as well..
