Dishwasher: Why is my dishwasher leaking? If tub gasket is the problem, the "Tub and Frame Parts" diagram for the (example) KitchenAid KDTM604KPS shows Part #3 which is the tub gasket for $16.46.

We, too, had a workhorse KA dishwasher. I fairly wept when it gave its swan song after 20+ years of washing dried on cheeses, tomato sauce and other malodorous gunk. We purchased a new one, bought the extended warranty and had a service call within two months. Control board went. Frustrating part was that Lowe's told me that no matter what died, it was covered. Well, it was covered, but I couldn't get anyone to come out. I'd make an appointment, and the company would cancel the night before. Finally, I called Lowes, told them about it and they sent someone right out. Currently, the little happy chime doesn't signal denoting the end of cycle .... probably signaling another service call. Sorry to corroborate your experience, PKguy. I've become so cynical. I hear energy savings, it only uses a teaspoon of water, blah, blah, blah and I just put up my hand like a traffic cop, thinking "Please. I'll be replacing this in just a few years." Cathy in SWPA

Morz8 the handle does protrude all of my kitchen aid appliances have that handle, I actually love it and the little shot gun shell badges on the ends but I sure understand your point. But kitchen aid does have a line that has a sloped handle that only protrudes at the center and one that has no handle at all. I looked at all of them when I bought mine. I specifically wanted the ones with the bar handles. I imagine I may bump a hip a few times on it and the same one on my KA stove. I don't have the KA fridge but I have been looking at it. My GE profile survived the flood, after a $500 replacement part, and is working fine, but I am considering moving it to the sunroom and getting the KA fridge I have been lusting over lol.

Bosch is on super backorder at the moment, due to COVID related manufacturing disruptions. So, if you want Bosch, you will need to be flexible on the model (based on what's available), unless willing to wait 3 or more months on backorder. All the 3-rack Bosches were sold out in our area, and we weren't willing to wait, so we went with a KitchenAid dishwasher with a 3rd rack "Flex Rack." It does everything we need it to. We chose KitchenAid by calling our local appliance repair companies and asking their advice. (It was there that we learned to stay away from Miele, because there are zero Miele service providers in our area.) The appliance repair companies all said KichenAid & Bosch get the fewest repair calls for dishwashers. Samsung & LG get the most dishwasher repair calls. I can affirm their opinion of LG, as that was the dishwasher we were replacing, after the 3rd time the pump went out in the 4 years we'd owned it.
