Builder bathroom, terrible paint choices
Comments (3)Posting a photo of the room, with the countertop and tiles in the photo would help. Maybe you could replace the shower curtain with a fresh white curtain. Maybe consider light gray walls, but would like to see photo first....See MoreColor choices (paint or stain) for bathroom hutch
Comments (6)"What is the style of your house, and surrounding rooms?" The style of my house is evolving to my taste. We remodeled the kitchen and family 2 years ago and now are doing the master bath. Then we will tackle the formal rooms which are in between, bringing the whole downstairs together. Here are a couple of pictures of the remodeled kitchen and family room area which reflect our taste. I like the combination of the crisp white cabinets, darker island cabinets, light stone on island, wood floors, and the rustic pine table. It's comfortable to my eye. These photos were taken when the rooms were almost done. I haven't taken any really good recent ones. I was thinking that a stained cabinet in the bathroom would be the "bathroom equivalent" of the stained pine table, to warm up the room since there will probably be marble counters and white vanity cabinets, plus the glass of the shower. All that cold needs something to warm it up. I think I have made my decision to stain the cabinet. Hearing the advice here and typing all this out has convinced me!...See MoreAdvice on bathroom paint color choices
Comments (2)We are redoing our bath. I have a larger room, but I did not want a light color. My vanities were a medium gray and the tiles were mostly white porcelain marble look. I went with Antique Pewter from Benjamin Moore. I was worried it would be too dark, but I love the way it came out. The trick is to have a contrast. You have a dark floor and medium gray tile. It might be too much to have a dark gray paint. But the tone is the most important part. Benjamin Moore has stick on samples that are pretty large and can give you a good idea of how it will look....See Morebathroom design reno (Urgent! Deadline to finalize tile choices today)
Comments (15)@Cherie I've definitely had that thought, but I feel that the longer we wait to do this project the harder it gets to deciding what we want. I've found that the more I think about this project the more unsure I've become really. This post was as close to we got to feeling like things were set to go...but given how this thread is going maybe taking extra time is the way to go @kariyava i actually love that all sand look...I showed it to my partner and we are considering using the sand britstone we chose with nickel fixtures just like it. but I think the stone we chose might a bit darker than the photo...might have to rethink the tile. As much as i like it I do worry that with double shower heads the bathroom might look a little crowded , and I'm not sure the spacious look would translate as well in a smaller bathroom with 8 ft ceilings...See MoreRelated Professionals
