Shaun, if you still have that thread could you post it..it was Jan 2005. I must have just printed it out one time when I was deleting a lot of saved html files. Basically she used some Adobe seasoning, sazon, garlic powder and black pepper, poked holes in the roast and rubbed the seasoning in, and then rubbed it with olive oil. In the bottom of the marinade pan/pot she added sliced onions and white wine. I am marinating mine in Mojo Criollo and and will brown it in olive oil. LindaC says to then put it in a covered roaster and cook for 5 hrs (Shaun's was a 8lb roast) @ 325. Baste every hour and then more frequently after 2.5 hrs. In the last hour push the onions off the top of the pork ( so I guess they are on top for the majority of cooking. I'd say that means a whole lotta onions.) When done to fork tender, tent meat, skim fat and make gravy which will be quite dark. And even better, I'll ask Sol to give her details. Maureen

Hmmm, good idea about the felt scented gingerbread men, lilypad but...I cannot put them in the oven, as I am planning on making a sturdy shelf in there to hold all of the individually bagged gingerbreadmen cookies. Don't want to chance an odor permeating the zip locks, ya know? Perhaps & can do that & affix them to the sides of the stove to mimic refridge magnets? I do like kyliesgranny's idea about the tarts. I could put a pan on each 'burner' full of them, add some of the oil I bought & hope thatsmells enough. OH! Someone this morning, told me that Avon has a spray out around this time of year-that smells like gingerbread. Anyone know about this? You spray it on your body.

Kath--I thought you were going to say you were going to go on a long vacation at Christmas time :0 (I've had that thought a few years!) This was the first year I've participated in the card exchange and just love all the beautiful cards. Next year I'll get an earlier start and send even more. I also send to between 30-40 cards to family and friends. Hope you feel better soon. It's awful to be sick during the holidays when there's so much to do. ((Kathleen))

who's going away? the mice or the spatulas? lol! I've thrown out a bunch of things because of those creatures! ugh - I can't stand them either. Evidently, after I moved out about 3 yrs ago, they stayed and partied on! I went over and rolled up the runner carpet 'they' left behind and put it in a trash bag. only to find there was another one under it (why?), so I went over last night and rolled up that one and put in a trash bag. It's hot here (over 100) so with mask on and plastic on my hands, I didn't stay long either time. I scraped up most all 'signs' of them using the pooper scooper (while wearing a mask and plastic on my hands). I'm going over again tonight about 7 (sun is to the west of the mtn west of me then) to clean up more (not mice stuff tho) for maybe 20 -30 min. That's all I can take at one time...
