Need Help/Ideas to put my TV on in my living room. Can't mount it.
Comments (8)oops, Denita, no pics. here are a few from the Houzz store, just for brainstorming. there are lots of consoles that combine housing for the cable box et al with lots of extra cupboard space, so you should have plenty of options. Ikea makes a lot of great pieces in this particular category too, so you could look there. You could maybe even go superlong to take as much advantage of that wall as possible, especially if you go with white or something else that blends into the background a bit....See MoreHelp me pick art for my living room + dining room!
Comments (10)No, I don't think it would look awful. I love big art pieces. The important thing though is do YOU like it? It's your home and it's important that it please YOU. Looking at your picture, I'm wondering if the art above the sofa isn't a tad big for that wall. (I really like it, btw.) Usually, the eye appreciates some breathing room around art. If you have painter's tape, try taping out that canvas' size above your couch and see just how much wall it covers. That might help you visualize its negative space better. Good luck and enjoy the process!...See MoreLiving room redecorating. need help making my room look cozy and inter
Comments (8)Center the sofa on the far wall (where the TV currently is) and put the end tables on each side. Get matching table lamps (26"-30" tall) for the end tables. You can put a larger piece of art over the sofa. This will address the immediate focal point as you enter this room. Keep the loveseat where it currently is, centered on the wall between the windows (if there's enough room when you move the sofa). Place the coffee table in front of it. If you need to scooch it down a bit that's fine, but I generally like to try centering off of architectural features first. You're looking at an arrangement something like this: You can then purchase a TV cabinet/console that will go on the wall opposite the loveseat. There might then be enough room to get a pretty side chair to angle in to the seating area. With this arrangement, you address conversation needs and also TV viewing. I wouldn't do an accent wall. Just keep all of your paint light and neutral. The carpet you have is pretty ... if you like it keep it. It looks as if you've already pulled some colors from it for your throw pillows. I would remove your valances, you don't need them with your fabric shades. Pretty furniture and a nice start to your room!...See Moreliving room,,,, please help the idea to beautify my living room again
Comments (1)What are you willing/able to do? What, specifically, are you unhappy with? Are you considering replacing the furniture? Paint the walls? Without more information it's difficult for me to make suggestions. However, I'd strongly suggest moving that chair away from the draperies/window. And also change the paint color. Is the room as small as it looks in these pictures? If so, that furniture, in my opinion, is far too large. When you say "Beautify my living room again" (again being the word I'm referring to), what did it look like before when you considered it beautiful? I think you've got a lot to work with. It would also probably be a good idea for you to post this also in the Home Decorating Forum....See MoreJAN MOYER
